What you’ll be doing...

The myInfo application suite is the enterprise performance management system for Verizon incorporating a number of modules to support Coaching, Scorecards, Observations, Reviews and Attendance Management. It is a hub that supports internal and external employees from frontline through senior management. This Senior Engineer role is a technical lead in the Attendance segment that performs in-depth analysis, design and advanced, full stack development solving complex and sensitive business needs. In addition to individual development work, on/ offshore managers and their teams rely on this role for development, project management, domain and technical leadership.
This role is an application and domain SME that works with business and GTS stakeholders to assist, identify and leverage application functionality to meet and exceed business needs. You will partner with onshore/offshore teams in technical execution of medium to highly complex deliverables that are critical to initiatives across the business.

  • Partner with stakeholders and GTS partners throughout the SDLC, from approach, estimation and design through implementation and production support.
  • Application development and domain leadership for critical project delivery through multiple work streams.
  • Apply strong agile delivery practices to deliver in partnership with on/offshore teams.
  • Identify and communicate issues, risks, and solutions proactively to management.
  • Provide high level production and crisis support for our applications.
  • Provide regular project updates, documentation and readouts.
  • Perform in-depth analysis, design and advanced programming towards our most complex application deliverables.
  • Be a technical mentor and coach, lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Follow up.
  • Document processes thoroughly to provide continuity.
  • Continuously monitor new technologies; seek and apply methods for increased efficiency and stability.
  • Ensure tight privacy, compliance and security controls are followed and maintained.
  • Document Database and ETL process thoroughly to allow peers to assist with support as needed.
  • Develop new database development and ETL packages and provide production support of existing ETL processes.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the following technologies: MSSQL, .Net Core, and JavaScript, C# technologies.
  • Experience working with data automation across multiple environments (ETL), specifically in MS SQL server and SSIS.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in related IT field or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL development including database architecture/design, stored procedures, scripting.
  • Experience with SSIS Advanced component experience (transformation objects in data flow).
  • Experience in Agile/Kanban development delivery.
  • Experience with NSA, micro-service based architectures, CI/CD tools, and familiarity with open stack technologies, including PostgreSQL.
  • Four or more years of experience in service based web application and database development.
  • AWS/Cloud experience.
  • Knowledge of open source technologies including Cassandra, Hadoop.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and communication streams throughout the day.
