The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Eaton's Aerospace Division, is seeking an Engineering Manager of Design Services, to work out of either our Orchard Park, NY or Davenport, IA facilities. The primary focus of this position is to provide working leadership, standardization and direction to a Design Services Team. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager – Functional Excellence the successful candidate will lead the US Design Services team comprising Design, Configuration management and TCO disciplines.

This individual is responsible for ensuring quality, on-time delivery, priority setting, and adherence to company and industry standards.

This person is expected to have a high level of experience directly related to their job function, and, as such, is given assignments which utilize that tested knowledge gained through experience. This person is expected to be a seasoned Engineering Manager and be fully self-directed in the completion their day-to-day tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead a staff of approximately 30 engineering staff including direct and indirect resources to provide design expertise, Configuration services, IP and export governance to the new product development, iR&D, and product support teams in the US.

• Lead the team in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety, and general employee relations of direct reports.

• Assure that efforts to improve the efficiency of the Engineering design function are emphasized through creative leadership, effective use of engineering tools, appropriate training and continuous improvement.

• Drive consistency and best practices across the organization with respect to product documentation and design standards.

• Strong understanding of the Product Lifecycle Management processes and systems, leading the team in understanding and adherence.

• Ensure standardization of product drawings and conformity to ANSI/ASME Y14 procedures. Fully competent at applying and overseeing the usage of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances into design details. Ability to complete tolerance stack and sensitivity analysis for complex assemblies

• Work with EIIC Pune to leverage the resource there for design purposes.

• Standardize key engineering metrics, monitor performance and implement improvements accordingly and align with the rest of Eaton Mission Systems Division.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience withinan engineering function with new product development and sustaining support.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Management or Engineering Technical Leadership experience.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee.
  • Relocation is not provided. All Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of EITHER, Eaton's facility in Orchard Park, NY OR in Davenport, IA.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering strongly preferred.

• Experience within the aerospace industry including experience in design, configuration management, and engineering processes.

• Experience leading or managing people (direct or indirect) in the design function

• Knowledge of typical DFSS tools and processes such as statistical analysis, tolerancing, etc.

• Proven track record of driving change
