Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a team of engineering and design personnel to support projects in our Englewood, CO office. Although the position is based out of our Colorado office, Amentum is open to this position being filled remotely with the right candidate that has excellent communication and time management skills. This position is with dynamic multi-discipline engineering group specializing in the design of prototype/one-off custom equipment, glove-boxes, hot cells, specialty research equipment and custom-designed, remotely operated mechanisms for handling radioactive and hazardous materials.

Key Responsibility

Follow regimented quality assurance / quality control procedures. Detailed design activities include preparation of fabrication drawing packages, equipment data-sheets, fabrication specifications, procurement specifications, engineering studies, test plans, and detailed equipment sizing & qualification calculations. Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality. Responsibilities include coordinating / leading the detailed phases of a design and working directly with other engineering disciplines.

Support development of functional and operational requirements, design criteria, and identification of applicable codes and standards for new design packages

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $51.66-$81.62 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Minimum Requirements

Required Experience

Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering required from an ABET Accredited Program.

Minimum of ten (10) years design engineering experience.

Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.

Proficient with 3D design software – (PTC Creo or ProE preferred)

Familiarity with Mathcad.

Demonstrated capability in the design of custom equipment and/or containment systems, development of design documentation including fabrication drawings, engineering analyses, strength of materials calculations, fabrication and procurement specifications and a basic knowledge in the selection of materials.

Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel).

Excellent written communication skills
