Leads and participates in requirements analysis, design reviews and other team development processes. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and materials and uses CAD software tools to design and analyze product integrity in order to facilitate rapid deployment.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:+ Lead the review of product requirements specification based on input from customer OEMs+ Generate (when necessary) the product requirements specification from the Voice of Customer (VOC) input+ Following the product spec, design, development new and innovative products+ Prepare for, present, and participate in formal and informal design review activities+ Conduct testing of all new products in accordance with Eaton standards and customer requirements+ Complete appropriate technical documentation for new product development and plant introductions+ Prepare for, present, and participate in formal and informal design review activities+ Launch new product line extensions following a stage-gate process (i.e., PROLaunch)+ Investigate and analyze new materials and their appropriate use within our product line+ Create simulation models to predict structural, fatigue, vibration, thermal, and flow performance of new products in development+ Conduct detailed analysis of tolerance stacks to ensure efficient assembly and reliable product performance+ Direct the day-to-day activities of the design and drafting team+ Successfully lead contractors either co-located or at international locations+ Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers and vendorsWhen we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required+ Minimum of five (5) years in new product development in electrical or electromechanical systems+ Minimum of three (3) years of 3D CAD experience+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of Tualatin, OR. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:+ Experience with packaging of power electronics devices and circuits+ Proven ability to lead a team to complete projects on time and on budget.+ Experience in commercial vehicle markets.+ Ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing customer market environment.+ Ability to design with and utilize 3D Mechanical CAD program (i.e.: SolidWorks, ProE/CREO, ANSYS, AutoCAD) or other mechanical design tools.+ Ability to research and design within transportation industry standards (SAE, ISO, MIL, & ISO TS16949).+ Experienced with current GD&T practices.+ Experience with High Pressure diecasting, injection molded plastic, and copper stamping component design.+ Knowledge of Test Automation, setup and control.We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
