Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, Mississippi facility. Relocation benefits are available

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture, and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems, and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

Position Overview:

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving supplier improvements in the areas of Quality, Delivery and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. The improvements must be consistent with Eaton Aerospace requirements.

In this function you will:

  • Oversee and participate in the development and initiation of inspection, testing and evaluation techniques for incoming goods.
  • Evaluate inspection techniques and recommend changes.
  • Review and analyze inspection test result and oversees the disposition of unaccepted items with affected suppliers and companies.
  • Create Inspection Plan by part number considering Key Characteristics.
  • Coordinate MR activities when these are required by Suppliers or Internal Customers with the rest of the functions.
  • Analyze supplier performance both in-house on supplier premises as required using WISPER.
  • Apply standard statistical techniques to analyze and evaluate studies.
  • You will implement and initiate corrective actions to suppliers and provide follow up and effectiveness until they are closed properly
  • Perform process/product audits to those suppliers that have been identified as critical and their performance is not adequate per our Eaton Supplier Excellence Manual
  • Work with the support team and operations of the organization to support any activity relate to investigations and analysis with suppliers that are required by customers.
  • Answer technical questions regarding commodity quality, long-term feasibility, or quality certifications.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality system surveys.
  • Ensure the promotion, awareness and deployment of Eaton, Customer and regulatory requirements through the Supply Chain base, including deployment of Eaton Business tools to improve business with suppliers.
  • Review, evaluate, and assign Quality Requirements to Purchase Orders from the organization to the Supply Chain.
  • Work with Production, Quality Assurance, Materials, and other departments to define quality standards and procedures.
  • Delegate as approver for FAIR’s performed by suppliers through WISPER.
  • Support in the methodology of develop PFMEA/Control Plans with the suppliers’ processes (PPAP).
  • Review and Support Supplier Change Requests
  • Control nonconforming material in accordance with Eaton procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support internal audit requirements in accordance with Eaton procedures.
  • Support Sub-Supplier Qualification Activities
  • Ensure the support of implementation and sustain of the Quality Lead Indicators QLI’s.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a Quality role.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Relocation benefits are available for those within the United States willing to relocate to the Jackson, MS area. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System, as well as working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001:2016.
  • 8D (RCCA) problem solving, aerospace auditing background
  • Working knowledge in functional measuring equipment usage and machining.
  • Experience with Aerospace and/or Automotive suppliers.
  • Experience with complex machining suppliers.
  • Experience with Special processes suppliers (Heat Treating, Plating, Painting).
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma/ Lean tools.
  • Knowledge of Nadcap process
  • Advanced knowledge of APQP/PPAP
  • Experience with Supplier Improvement Programs, Supplier Quality Plans
