Eaton’s Critical Power and Digital Infrastructure Division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team.

This position can be based in Raleigh, NC with hybrid work schedule

Position Overview:

Customer Quality Engineer will manage customer quality issues and warranty performance across the D-IT business unit. This includes being the quality liaison on all customer quality issues, interacting with several stakeholders including Service, Product Management, Operations, Engineering, Sales, and Customers.

In this function you will:

  • Support failure analysis of power quality and power distribution products to determine root cause and identify corrective and preventive actions to improve quality, increase product reliability, and customer satisfaction
  • Provide reports to document findings for distribution to internal and external customers, quality support for resolution of reported customer quality issues and assist in new product development projects including project quality deliverables and activities to assure quality of new product releases
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions with the goal to increase process performance metrics and product reliability
  • Manage the logistics of nonconforming material including administration, inbound/outbound and disposition of product in collaboration with Test and Quality team members
  • Monitor product shipments and field performance to drive investigations and root cause identification assuring closed loop short term and long-term corrective/ preventive actions to:
    • Improve warranty CONC performance and achieve divisional goals
    • Improve product line field performance (DPPM) and achieve divisional goals
    • Improve customer satisfaction
  • Assist in facilitating and supporting company internal and external audits
  • Maintain internal documentation control system of all company processes and procedures
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures and work procedures and foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s financial and aspirational goals, encouraging continuous improvement through participation and teamwork

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution
  • Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering, Technical or Engineering experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship on an ongoing basis
  • Relocation assistance is available for this position. Only candidates within the United States will be considered

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Master’s Degree
  • Six Sigma Belt (Green, Black) certified
  • Statistical tools and methods (Minitab)
  • ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE Certification
  • Knowledge of design, validation, manufacturing, and test
  • Knowledge of electrical power quality and distribution products and systems
  • SAP experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Power BI experience
