Eatons Fuel and MotionControl Systems division, a part of our Aerospace group, is currently seeking aRepair Station Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. This position will bebased out of our Irvine, CA office.Position Overview:The Repair Station Quality Engineeris responsible for directing, planning and laying out the details of inspectionstandards, methods and procedures used by the repair station in complying withall applicable FAA and EASA Regulations, manufacturers specifications andrecommendations.The candidate for the role will defineand execute Strategic Quality Plan in conjunction with Plant Leadership. Theywill act as the liaison with all Federal officials and Customers, while maintainingcurrent files of pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations, specifications,certifications, Repair Station manual, procedures and Airworthiness Directives.In this role, you will manage theproper execution of FAA form 8130-3 or maintenance release tags/documentationand provide oversight of the final acceptance of all incoming material,including new parts, supplies and the airworthiness of articles which work hasbeen performed outside the repair station by contract.The incumbent will provide QualityAssurance support to Suppliers, Customers and internal functions includingManufacturing, Assembly & Test cells and participates in continuousimprovement activities in targeted areas You will complete the QualityAssurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industrystandards, government regulations and various customer requirementsMaking what matters work at Eatontakes the passion of every employee around the world. We create an environmentwhere creativity, invention and discovery become reality, each and every day.Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your fullpotentialand where you can help us reach ours.In this function youwill:+ Manage the proper tagging and identification of all partsand components.+ Provide the continuity of inspection responsibility,assuring completion of required inspection when personnel shift or assignmentchanges occur.+ Manage inspections of completed work before it is approvedfor return to service, and that the proper inspection and maintenance records,reports, and forms required for such release are properly executed.+ Product Audits will be performed per schedule+ Process nonconformances and customer submittals per MRBprocedures.+ Process customer rejected material(s), provide analysis,corrective actions and applicable reports as required per procedures and/orcustomer requests.+ Assist, manage and direct all personnel assigned orauthorized to perform inspection functions, quality functions and ensure thatproper inspection records, and forms used by the repair station, are properlyexecuted prior to releasing the product for return to service.+ Provide training for technicians and assist in providing andholding customer training programs both on-site and off-site. Assist RepairStation Manager in scheduling, coordination, and performing required training.+ Function as Lead Auditor to perform quality system audits toassess compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001 standards, FAA/EASA regulations and CASErequirements.+ Host& support Internal, Customer, Supplier and Third-PartyAudits as required+ Work collaboratively with applicable internal functionalteams to improve key metrics including Supplier DPPM, RCCA responses and timelyactions as issues are identified+ Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction &improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives+ Analyze organizational quality metrics and performs periodicreviews to evaluate results and recommends action plans to Quality Manager toclose gaps at an operational level+ Contribute in using problem solving techniques &determining containment and Corrective Action solutions with applicableverification methods+ Contribute in the design and implementation of qualityassurance and Repair Station training programs and conducts training inquality-related topics+ May participate in product development gate review meetingswith launch activities including identification of customer expectationsensuring compliance that Quality requirements are understood, flowed down andmet+ Other duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor and/orQuality ManagerWhen we embrace the different ideas,perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individualsand as a company are stronger.Eaton will consider for employment,qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with therequirements of the FCIHO.QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree from an accredited institution+ Minimum of two (2) years of work experience within Quality function in the Aerospace industry+ Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a FAA /EASA Repair Station.+ Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future+ This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee+ No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Irvine, CA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution+ ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)+ Customer-specific quality registration schemes and certification processes experience (i.e. ISO9001, ISO/TS-16949, AS9100)+ Certified DMIR and Repair person.+ Previous work experience of problem-solving methods such as: Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects+ Working knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements+ Previous work experience in Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination+ Familiarity with engineering design and product reliability concepts and tool setsPosition Criteria:+ Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.+ Good analytical skills and strong business acumen to understand consequences of decisions+ Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written+ Awareness of international cultures+ Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.+ Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.+ Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus+ Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team.+ Leverage expertise from other Eaton divisions to continuously improve design standards.+ Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
