Description

We are in search of a CAD Designer/Doc Controller to join our diverse and dynamic organization out of our Framingham, MA. office. As a core team member of our Electric Utility Distribution Section, you will be interacting with an established group of engineers, designers and drafters, playing a valuable part in executing drafting of accurate drawing packages for utility power delivery projects, using MicroStation and AutoCAD.

CAD Drafter/Doc Controller responsibilities:

  • Serve as Document Control POC utilizing clients system to evaluate and cleanup current records.

  • Keep track of work completed across multiple stations.

  • This is a hybrid position working 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely each week. Travel might be required to client office 1 day per week.
  • Complete drafting assignments on Protection & Control, SCADA, Communications drawings including but not limited to Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, SCADA and Communication drawings, Control Building Layouts and Elevations, Panel Front Views and Cabinet Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Interconnection Drawings, AC/DC Station Service drawings and other miscellaneous drawings as required by project scope.
  • Complete drafting assignments on Physical Electrical drawings including but not limited to General Arrangement, Electrical Plans, Electrical Elevations, Sections and Details, Foundation Plans and Details, Structural Details, Grounding Plan and Details, Raceway Plan and Details, Equipment Vendor Files and other drawings as required by project scope.
  • Support remote office overflow CAD workload on a need and availability basis. This will require coordination with other CAD leads in Leidos offices.

What you will bring to the table:

  • AS degree in Drafting and Design degree from an accredited institution. HS diploma or drafting certificate with additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microstation and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledgeable with ProjectWise
  • Familiar with Raster Files and setting up drawing attributes..
  • Ability to create and/or modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with a high level of attention to details.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience working with electric utility distribution projects and physical drawings
  • Experience in Doc Control, Drawing Records Management, Preliminary and final IFC issuance
  • The ability to understand and implement a wide range of client CAD standards.
  • Experience with 3-D modelling in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of VBA and/or AutoLisp.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00
