What you’ll be doing...

This position will be part of the Canvas - Award-winning UI portal, work and interact with multiple internal IT teams including Senior Management responsible for the design, deployment, and management of application, infrastructure services, and capacity analysis on Kubernetes and its ecosystem to meet the business needs. The technical leader will be accountable for the successful deployment and ongoing operation of Kubernetes and its ecosystem along with the high level of interaction with our enterprise architecture and application teams. Maintain strong working knowledge of both the business needs and the direction of Northstar architectural trends. This position will provide leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision-making through the project planning level.

Employees in this role are top-level experts and visionaries, responsible for the development of strategy and design of containerization of application and infrastructure components to support strategy, implement and support microservices application infrastructure architect and manage solutions leveraging hyper-converged infrastructure, configuration management tooling as well as traditional application infrastructure platforms. Some of the technical products this individual will work within this role are run including provisioning of clusters, integrate monitoring, alerting, logging, observability and traceability tooling with Kubernetes, performance tuning of all Kubernetes components to meet the SLIs, Cloud transformation and migration (AWS EKS, Azure, etc.), help creating CICD pipeline and release automation, support projects including Frontend tier, Middle Tier to migration from monolithic to microservices, maintenance, provisioning of logging platform. This position is responsible for strategic planning including Disaster Recovery, High Availability, and Redundancy of platforms and their ecosystem. This position is responsible for delivering all the key initiatives of CANVAS in the Cloud Realm and making CANVAS available outside of the Vz Network (internet-facing).

  • Plan and support Kubernetes and ecosystems transformation and/or migration of application platforms on AWS EKS such as setup, configure and deploy applications on cloud platforms (not limited to) while collaborating with our business customers and partners on key engagements.
  • Oversee enterprise production applications.
  • Develop technical plans for major projects such as business integrations. Research and implement new technologies and new methods.
  • Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications. Ensure the reliability of our infrastructure platforms by ensuring capacity mgmt, monitoring, and security practices and standards are in place and working.
  • Architect and help build a common shared CICD pipeline to be used by all application partners to deploy the eapp containers.
  • Analyze the need and requirements of existing and any additional tools required for application performance monitoring, configuring, and deployments.
  • Stay abreast with industry evolution in the cloud space and conduct necessary POCs to evaluate new services.
  • Perform advisory roles to senior leadership and influence key technology decisions.
  • Guide the DevOps team by prioritizing the deliverables and laying an architectural runway.
  • Implement innovative ideas for automation, self-healing, and self-serve capabilities.
  • Improve customer experience by improving stability and reducing MTTR.
  • Ensure all documents and Implementation Guides are clearly defined and are implemented correctly.
  • Coordinate staff training to gain new technology, and internal and external applications for quick troubleshooting and possible resolution.

What we’re looking for...

What you will need:

⦁ Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of related experience.

⦁ six or more years of related experience as an enterprise/solutions architect implementing large solutions on public cloud infrastructure, mobility architecture, tablets, and android/iOS platforms.

⦁ Experience in Cloud & Container platform Strategies, Design, Architecture and Migration.

⦁ AWS services experience like EC2 , RDS, S3, EKS/Lambda, EMR, DynamoDB, Aurora PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, SageMaker etc.

⦁ Experience with architecting, designing and implementing EKS clusters and deploying containers adhering to SOE.

⦁ GitHub , Bitbucket or similar source control system experience.

· Understanding of application/web servers like weblogic, websphere,JBoss, Apahce, Tomcat.

⦁ Experience with Devops and SDLC methodologies and tools. - Jenkins, Jira, Gitlab, Jfrog

⦁ Experience with dockers and container orchestration using Openshift, Kubernetes.

⦁ Application logging implementation experience using Kafka, Splunk, Kibana.

⦁ Experience in implementing hardware and software security scans using Blackduck, Fortify, Twistlock, Sysdig, Nessus and Tenable.

⦁ Proficient in scripting/configuration tools - Ansible, CloudFormation, Python, UNIX, Powershell , Chef, Puppet

⦁ Experience in implementing Fault-Tolerance, Load Balancing, Redundancy, Clustering, Performance Tuning, and Configuration Management.

⦁ Expertise in application performance and infrastructure monitoring tools - NewRelic , CloudWatch, Splunk, CloudWatch, DataDog, Grafana

⦁ XML/JSON, REST APIs experience.

⦁ Test automation/load test implementation using Selenium, Jmeter.

⦁ Experience in defining and driving major enterprise IT projects/migrations/rollouts.

⦁ Workflow products experience like Bonita, RedHat PAM.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

⦁ A Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

⦁ Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
