What you’ll be doing...

Join our Information Technology team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers’ needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will work fairly independently on more complex operational and technical projects, issues, systems and applications. You will use your experience, expertise and skills to solve problems that are more difficult and infrequent.

  • Design and implement GIS solutions that enable the Fiber Engineering and build for Verizon’s One Fiber network.
  • Lead a team of onshore and offshore IT developers to develop the software using ESRI Platform of tools such as ArcMap, ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server Manager, ArcSDE, Catalog, Dashboards, Spatial Algorithms, Oracle Spatial Java, Spring Boot, jQuery, AngularJS, Python, ArcPy.
  • Create and publish map documents as different rest services either as a feature or map service and GeoProcessing Services.
  • Monitor and maintain the ArcGIS environment and scale the platform to business needs.
  • Collaborate with IT development teams from Engineering, Planning and Service Enablement to be able to build and deploy the One Fiber network.
  • Interact with network planning, and engineering teams to understand planning and engineering processes for the network buildout.
  • Design and develop user interface screens, and ArcGIS map views that enable fiber display and analytics.
  • Participate as a full member of the Fiber Transport Scaled Agile Resource Train Planning Sessions and Agile Sprints.
  • Implement complete CI/CD pipelines to promote code from Dev/SIT/UAT through various quality, security and performance gates, with the ability to deploy to production.
  • Works with Quality Engineering and Production Support teams to get software tested in SIT/UAT and deployed in production.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems,
  • Eight or more years of experience in software development using Java and Databases, including unit testing.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience with Geospatial Information Systems.
  • Five or more years of experience with micro service development using Spring Boot, Node JS.
  • Four or more years of experience with geospatial databases Oracle Spatial or PostGIS.
  • Four or more years of experience with Oracle database.
  • Four or more years of experience with agile development process and DevOps tool chain like Junit, Confluence, Jira, Stash, Jenkins, JMeter and SonarQube.
  • Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and New Relic.
  • Four or more years of experience with software development using AWS infrastructure.
  • Experience with Telecom OSS development, and knowledge of the PON network architecture, and 5G.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with business and IT.
  • Thorough understanding of Application Security vulnerabilities reported by Fortify, DAST, and Black Duck scans.
  • Ability to create presentations to explain systems architecture and process flows.
  • Hands on experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
