What you will do:

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Technician located in Shirley, MA. You will be responsible for working with Engineers to design, develop, modify, and evaluate mechanical & electrical components, assemblies, or subsystems for electromechanical medical devices under specific time, regulatory, and cost constraints to ensure successful testing, manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability of Mobius products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determine and ensure the use of specific design approaches and parameters and will conduct feasibility studies on new designs.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, ensure experimental tests are conducted and evaluate the results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply creativity and engineering principles to the design, analysis and testing of X-ray/CT products.
  • Support the creation and/or change of product requirements, specifications, test procedures and work instructions.
  • Create documentation of analysis, design and testing.
  • Support manufacturing, internal testing, and manufacturing process development.
  • Work with management, will organize and manage one’s priorities and responsibilities.
  • Participate in fabrication, assembly, integration and testing of prototypes.
  • Aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable and are reliable.
  • Assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development.
  • Submit periodic reports on assigned topics to supervisor.
  • May be assigned to the engineering efforts of a specific product or product line.
  • May coordinate the activities of 1 or more employees.

What you need:

  • 3+ years of Mechanical, Electrical, or Test Technician or Engineering experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Demonstrated mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks or other CAD.
  • Demonstrated technical design and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated design for manufacturability skills in capital equipment design.
  • Exercise discretion and independence when applying professional expertise.
  • Must be able to manage time, projects, stress and conflict.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
  • Must be able to bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and confidential records.
  • Must be able to communicate / present to large groups of people.

Preferred Experience:

  • 10+ years Mechanical, Electrical, or Test Technician or Engineering experience
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in medical device design or other regulated industry.
  • Experience with PLM system such as Arena.
  • Assembly and metalworking skills.
