Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking a 2nd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Olean, NY facility. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE OFFERED.

ALSO, Eaton will provide a one-time signing bonus of $3,000.00. $1500.00 paid after the successful completion of 3 months, and $1500 paid after the successful completion of 9 months. This payment is subject to applicable tax withholdings and requires that you be an active employee in good standing at the time of payment.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate for this role would be someone who has been in industrial maintenance for at least 3-5 years and has been working with and repairing automated equipment with their focus being more on the electrical side (motors, PLC, sensors, etc) rather than the mechanical side (piping, bearings, gearboxes, etc). The Maintenance Technician contributes to the overall effectiveness of the business unit by maintaining a high level of involvement, motivation, and technical expertise for maintaining, developing and improving manufacturing test procedures and advises manufacturing as to process improvements.

In this function you will:

  • Perform all work on high voltage equipment related to the operation of machinery and take initiative in making repairs or replacement parts in faulty machines, equipment, and controls using machine and hand tools to the trade.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair production test stations to assist in the manufacturing process of arresters by following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
  • Diagnose the cause of the malfunction of test stations and other types of electrical equipment by studying wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications and determining cause of problems and requirements to the solve problems.
  • Provide technical guidance to production staff or maintenance personnel in operating and maintaining the test equipment.
  • Conducts a variety of electrical tests according to general instructions and/or established test procedures. Evaluate test progress and recommend test procedure changes to provide more accurate results and/or to trace specific causes of unfavorable test results.
  • Calibration of test stations including the maintenance of test logs/records, preparation of reports and summaries as needed. Analyzes and discusses findings with personnel and recommends modifications to improve performance; able to compute and plot test data.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ Industrial Maintenance experience
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (Certified Electronic Technician)
  • Experience in an electrical/electronics maintenance of an automated production environment.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of the theory behind the design of test equipment and manufacturing testing procedures.
  • Specialized knowledge in high voltage and PLC programming
  • Demonstrated understanding/knowledge in technical capacity, problem solving, decision making, learning orientation, and teamwork orientation
  • Minimum of two (2) years of electronics testing experience in a manufacturing environment

Position Criteria:

  • Efficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience interpreting electrical blueprints/drawings
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other functional areas
  • Ability to communicate problems to supervisor or manager clearly and concisely
