Engineering Technician - E3
Job Summary
Amentum is seeking an Engineering Technician to operate and maintain equipment necessary to support conduct of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) testing/certification of DoD and non-DoD developmental and operational weapon and electronic systems.
The purpose of this testing is to determine if the system under evaluation meets E3 design specifications and/or assess its ability to function in its intended operational electromagnetic environment from both a safety and reliability standpoint.
Travel is involved as much as 10% of time.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S citizen.
- Must possess at least a DoD Interim Secret security clearance.
- Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least five (5) years specialized technical experience in RF energy testing, EMC, EMV, or HERO testing.
- Two (2) years experience in the following areas: Operation and maintenance of high power Radio Frequency (RF) transmitters which shall include Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs), magnetrons, and state of the art solid state amplifiers.
- Knowledge and experience to perform RF testing and measurements using Realtime Spectrum Analyzers, high speed digital O-scope, and computer software; Ordnance handling/loading procedures and parameters of shipboard emitters; Using anechoic chamber, reverberation chamber, and/or ground plane test facilities to conduct E3 testing; years of knowledge and application of military standards and specifications.
