  • Learn and become proficient in all aspects of handheld stainless steel instrument sharpening, repair and maintenance (Maintain an average score of 80% on all written and technical assessments).
  • Learn to manage and execute the outsourcing of instruments and equipment repairs that cannot be serviced on location due to limitations in capabilities.
  • Learn and become proficient in Stryker product lines in order to identify opportunities with customer to assist Sales Representative with customer needs.
  • Learn to capture all repair activities on location or outsourced through the use of the company provided software program and customer third party tracking system (example: SPM). Including: work orders, National Repair Lab orders, out sourced orders, Stryker RMA orders, packing slips, parts and supply orders, and others.
  • Generate activity reports and present to supervisor on a predetermined schedule Activity reports such as: trays due for service, tray maintenance report/summary, manufacturer related repair logs, and others.
  • Maintain and update training log on a daily basis.
  • Participate in scheduled highlight discussions and surveys with Supervisor and account staff (repair volumes, instruments repaired, service issues and other expectations as communicated).
  • Enroll in Certified Central Vendor Service Program (CCVSP) course with expectation of completion within twelve months.
  • Interact with appropriate customer and Stryker personnel to assure open lines of communication as well as accurate service level expectations.
  • Maintain professional communication with all internal and external customers.
  • Maintain professional appearance, work ethic, and attitude required by Stryker and the medical facility.
  • Track the progress of all outsourced items and update data base as needed.
  • Learn to set up and maintain repair equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain company standards for quality and services levels.
  • Up to 100% travel may be required during intial training phases, some travel required after training is completed.
  • Up to 20% travel (after intitial training phases)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree from a college/university or equivalent experience OR 1-2 years industry experience in reprocessing, use and/or repair of surgical instruments OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, product appearance, etc.).
  • Maintain professional appearance, work ethic, and attitude required by Stryker and the medical facility.
  • Adhere to (HIPPA) and other related patient confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Must have near visual acuity (corrected) color vision, mobility, bending, standing, stooping, and finger dexterity.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment and critical thinking effectively.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentages.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals & incoming documentation. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and documentation. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and peers.
