Position Summary:

The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support of benefits Penske provides to our associates in the US and Canada, including health and welfare and retirement. This position will be responsible for the regular activities related to service delivery. A successful specialist will provide excellent customer service, be a sound problem solver, and be able to identify opportunities for improvement. This position will support the Benefit Managers with various annual activities including Plan Audits, valuations, legal and regulatory filings, open enrollment, dependent verifications, and other related processes. This role will also support activities related to the acquisition of other businesses by Penske to ensure a streamlined and consistent process that embodies our Benefits Philosophy.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Administer benefits systems of record to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to troubleshoot any system related issues. Communicate issues effectively. Maintain the logic table within the HR system for accuracy.
  • Conduct regular audits of the process to ensure compliance with the plan documents. Identify areas of opportunity for process improvement. Develop and maintain process documentation related to Penske benefits.
  • Support associates going through various situations, involving their benefits accounts including setup of benefits, QDROs, transfers, rollovers, complex health issues, life insurance, beneficiaries, etc.
  • Work with external vendors on education and communication related to our benefits plans.
  • Assist in the Annual processes with data collection, management, and verification.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or Accounting required
  • GBA, CEBS, or CBP preferred
  • 5 years of experience with administration of benefits or providing detailed analysis on benefits costs and usage
  • 3 years of experience providing detailed analysis on benefits costs and usage
  • Intermediate to advanced ability to understand, analyze, and explain data.
  • Advanced Excel Skills; Intermediate proficiency in other Microsoft Office products.
