Job Description

New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. The Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co-op) education that lasts up to 6 months and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Support Functions Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

During the 6-month Co-op program the student(s) will gain experience with handling the “Associate Specialist Engineer” role by working alongside the West Point Command Center Operations team.

  • Primary responsibilities will involve developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of West Point facilities, operations, and personnel.
  • The Specialist utilizes available resources to ensure continuous smooth operation of the site and emergency services as required.
  • The Specialist will be exposed to Security, Plant Utilities, and Fire protection on the corporate level on a large plant site.
  • Will work with appropriate department personal to ensure plant and corporate policies are followed or a remediated and/corrected action is in place.
  • Comprehensive Training will be provided for the position which includes NFPA, NIMS and Emergency Management.
  • Co-op will also be involved in several ongoing projects for streamlining operations and maximizing results.
  • This position will involve direct communication and collaboration with multiple departments and vendors.
  • Co-op will be exposed to all aspects of plant site operations including GMP and GLP environments.
  • Work with minimum supervision, excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills required.
  • Student(s) are responsible for learning and adhering to our Company Safety, Health, Environmental, GMP and regulatory requirements (as required by task).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Business & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Material Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related fields.
  • Candidate must be available for a period of 6 months.
  • Candidate must be able to work flexible hours and undergo federal background check for access to classified systems.

Preferred:

  • Candidate should have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Candidate should have basic print reading and understanding
  • Candidate should have experience in emergency response or other EMA positions.
