Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Lincoln, IL facility.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Inventory Control Specialist shall be to lead activities within the Supply Chain team on materials management discipline. This discipline will focus on: ERP driven cycle count program, MAPICS transactional integrity, inventory controls, teaching team members transactional protocol, and developing a place for every part for the Lincoln facility (PFEP).

In this function you will:

  • Train and develop super user knowledge of the Lincoln MAPICS, Infor, and AS400 systems. A good portion of this assignment will be self-teaching and exploration.
  • Administer the ERP driven cycle count program for the Lincoln plant .
  • Oversee inventory accuracy and cycle count programs for 3 offsite warehouses (Lawrence, Sheley’s, Jaynix)
  • Provide documentation and root cause analysis for significant cycle count adjustments.
  • Monitor manufacturing transactional integrity (closing Manufacturing orders, status 40 jobs, etc).
  • Learn the core system mechanics within MAPICS of the Lincoln Kanban system and Kanban Printers which are used to support production velocity.
  • Monitor and investigate inventory health metrics and indices. Collaborate with Value Stream Planners, Supervisors, and Leads on maintaining system integrity, analyze Supply Chain data, and help “clean up” MAPICS data
  • Define, develop, and update standard work for proper inventory transactions.
  • Teach team members in Lincoln the standards for proper inventory transactions new and ongoing.
  • Prepare the plant for Annual Physical Inventory, support finance in this endeavor.
  • Develop a robust inventory storage plan for every part in Lincoln. (Place for every part, covers offsite storage as well)
  • Manage census of bunks, bins and containers, replenishment, count
  • Administer the rack/container management program for Lincoln. The manufacturing systems analyst shall serve as the gatekeeper of rack/bunk/container/bin census information. This position shall lead counts each year to update our data. When these containers need repair or replenishment, the inventory control analyst shall be the primary point of contact
  • Learn Query tools in Microsoft Query and Power BI to aid inventory control.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Completed Associates degree
  • Two years’ experience with inventory control functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel)
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Lincoln, IL will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • experience using PowerBI, AS400, MAPICS, ERP systems
  • experience with Kanban systems
  • Excellent communication skills to work with Operational staff
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision
