The Specialist, QC Lean Labs is a full-time position supporting the long-term sustainability of the Lean Labs initiative within the Summit, NJ CAR T Quality Control department. The primary focus of this role is to support continuous improvement in collaboration with the QC functional areas using lean principles and various operational excellence strategies.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support enhancements of visual management and leveling solutions alongside the quality control functional areas.

  • Ensure established KPIs, metrics, and heat maps created to measure performance of quality value streams are maintained.

  • Utilize SME knowledge of lean methodologies to collaborate with QC personnel to define strategy, plan, and execution of continuous improvement projects.

  • Work closely with other continuous improvement professionals to cascade needs and projects throughout the organization to best achieve positive solutions.

  • Actively participate in the lean labs community of practice to stay allied with the greater community within the BMS network.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree preferred, preferably in Biology or a related science. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required in a cGMP setting.

  • 0 – 3 years of operational excellence and lean manufacturing principles experience preferred.

  • Experience with operational excellence concepts including (but not limited to) lean labs, tier governance, change management, and project management.

  • Fundamental understanding of the functional areas including, but not limited to, microbiology, flow cytometry, molecular techniques, sample management, material management, equipment management, data management, quality record management, and training.

  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust for the appropriate audience.

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally to drive operational and quality excellence.

  • Personal organization, multitasking, time management, critical reasoning, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

  • Ability to think strategically, work with stake holders to translate strategy into a plan, prioritize actions, and align on a clear path for team members in a highly dynamic environment.
