Job Description

We continuously grow as Organon and transfer our Shared Services activities to our new Service Center in Lisbon.

Therefore, we are currently looking for a:

Senior Specialist Source to Settle, m/f/d

This role is based in Lisbon (Portugal)

Purpose of the role

The Senior Specialist will contribute to ensuring all Source to Settle (StS) processes and transactions comply with accounting standards, policies, SOX, and statutory requirements. The Senior Specialist will also provide input to the global process owner group for operational opportunities for process and control design and vendor experience. The StS Service Center team will be organized regionally so that the Senior Specialist will be working within a regional scope. As well as being responsible for successfully delivering StS operations for their region, the Senior Specialist will oversee service delivery from our BPO partner and work collaboratively with Organon vendors, Procurement, and Organon Markets to fully understand our vendors and our business dynamics. As a Senior Specialist role, you must provide coaching support to the team members, set and promote collective goals, evaluate skill development, and develop individual action plans.

You will be working with approximately 200 Finance and HR professionals in the new GSS center based in Lisbon.

Main responsibilities

  • Deliver services in accordance with agreed Service Level, Controls, and Governance.
  • Help manage process risk by adhering to policies and internal controls, complying with StS guidelines, and ensure process, and SOX controls are executed promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and related internal control documentation.
  • Bring a process improvement focus, supporting the implementation of best practices and a project management discipline.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support successful audit results and compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Support training, accuracy, and timely delivery of work outputs.
  • Engage with process owners and other GSS Center colleagues to help identify opportunities to drive efficiencies through continuous improvement.
  • Maintain professional and detailed process documentation, such as global SOPs, Regional Work Instructions, etc., in coordination with the StS Global Process Owner.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define objectives, align expectations and ensure an "end to end" approach to process change and improvements.
  • Administer 'world-class service' experience for vendors, fellow employees, and stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships through collaboration, negotiation, and influence.
  • Allocate responsibilities and organize different members according to countries and requirements
  • Coach team members, evaluate skills development and create individual action plans.
  • Cultivate an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, open communication, and teamwork.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related to StS.
  • Up to 5 years experience in StS.
  • Experience working on regional or global teams. (Valued: Experience in Launching / Standing up a Shared Service Center).
  • Demonstrated strong math, query, analytical, and systems skills with experience in data management, MS Office.
  • Experience using SAP R/3 required. (Valued: experience with SAP S/4 HANA).
  • Practical training skills and team-building capabilities, leadership- and Project management skills.
  • Experience with continuous process improvement projects leading to significant time or bottom-line savings.
  • Pays attention to details, produces accurate deliverables, and consistently meets deadlines.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to maintain financial controls.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP preferred.
  • Solid financial background with experience in accounting processes and experience with Internal or External Audits valued.
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese, and preference for an additional language
