Security Platform Specialist will be responsible for managing and remediating instances of data leakage and other cyber security incidents related to data loss prevention that occur on Organon’s global network and global computing assets. The Resource will provide coverage for security platforms and technologies including but not limited to Network Data Protection / Loss Prevention technologies. Platforms in scope are McAfee Network Data Loss Prevention, Windows Information Protection and Azure Information Protection.

Resource will drive innovation, process improvement, security efficiencies, and lead the charge for strengthening Organon’s security program.

Security Platform Specialist will be a member of the Security Operations Center team with the Business Technology Risk Management & Security (BTRMS) organization and report to the Security Operations Center Lead.

Primary Activities/ responsibilities include:

  • Managing data classification tools, including data tagging, such as Microsoft Compliance Center

  • Investigate incidents generated from our Data Loss Prevention Tools using log management tools, packet captures reports, data visualization, and pattern analysis

  • Maintain DLP Policies/Rules and associated events which support compliance to our Company’s corporate policies

  • Manage DLP incidents to the point of remediation and clearly communicate any remediation activities and status to colleagues and/or senior management

  • Designing holistic DLP capabilities leveraging multiple technologies across endpoints, web traffic, and email

  • Facilitate and support the global Intellectual Property and Sensitive Information Protection Program

  • Perform in-depth analysis of impacts and make recommendations for the implementation of Data Loss Prevention indicators

  • Perform complex analyses on Data Loss Prevention sightings to identify trends and propose enhancements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Information Systems

  • 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity

  • Demonstrated analytic expertise – including ability to think critically and logically in a dynamic, high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of security concepts, principles, and best practices

  • Experience working in data loss prevention operations or a cyber operations role

  • Experience with creating data loss prevention alerts, rules, and signatures; as well as tuning, query support, and custom report creation

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Adaptable, willing to learn, and ready to grow in a changing environment

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of foundation in information security controls, guidelines, and standards (NIST 800-171 R2, NIST Privacy Framework v 1.0, NIST 800-61 R2, and GDPR)

  • Knowledge of investigative or data protection and data loss prevention tools, including SOAR platforms, Microsoft Compliance Center, McAfee DLP, and Splunk

  • Demonstrated skills working with various IT technologies and services

  • Experience with developing performance baselines for DLP tools

  • Ability to review application functionality and architecture to advise and assist project teams on building compensating controls where security requirements cannot be met
