PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Provide a good balance between technical knowledge of SAP ALM tools (Solution Manager and Focused Run) and its implementation requirements and the functional processes it provides, and how these functional processes drive value. Deploy new functionalities in these tools and ensure already deployed functionalities are supported and available as required.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for the analysis, design, customization and operations of SAP Solution Manager and SAP Focused Run functionalities
  • Identify potential improvement areas and design & implement solutions
  • Contact partner for the business key users and SAP application specialists, supporting them in all relevant questions related to the monitoring, change process and other functionalities of SolMan and Focused Run
  • Conduct periodic training and information sessions ensuring transparency of policies, processes, and tool usage
  • Assist with the smooth and timely transition of new Solutions into the Practice
  • Work with system analysts within the wider IS community to map SAP ALM-related tools deliverables into sustainable and effective operational processes
  • Deliver documentation to agreed standards and procedures
  • Maintain close working relationships with other team members, including Basis
  • As a key stakeholder, feed into Technical Road Map for the organization
  • Assist SAP COE team in terms of ABAP knowledge where applicable
  • Responsible for maintaining rules and policies in the Alert Management tool

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the related field is required
  • 3+ years of experience in SAP –SAP Solution Manager and/or ABAP and/or Basis
  • Experience in 1 full implementation lifecycle of any SAP module is preferred
  • Understanding of ITIL process is preferred
  • Experience in SAP sustainment is preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the latest SAP Business Suite, including in-depth knowledge of at least one application in the SAP Business Suite
  • Familiar with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Detailed knowledge of SAP Solution Manager 7.2 and its sub-modules, including at least 4 of the following:
    • Managed system setup, SLD, LMDB
    • Change Control Management
    • IT Service Management
    • Application Operations ( System, Integration, Job, HANA/BI monitoring, MF-Mon, IC Mon and alerting)
    • Custom Code Lifecycle Management
    • Data Volume Management (DVM)
    • Focused Insight
    • Focused Build
    • Solution Documentation
    • Process Management
    • Business Process Operations (BP monitoring)
  • Detailed knowledge of SAP Focused run or SAP cloud ALM is preferred
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in process and automation
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Able to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Able to influence others and move toward a shared vision or goal
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Development experience in SAP ABAP will be a significant advantage
