Industrial Hygiene Safety & Environment Specialist

Job Description

Organon in Cramlington, UK is currently hiring a Specialist Industrial Hygiene Safety & Environment.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team in conjunction with SHE, IPT Operations, Engineering, Occupational Health and HR to identify, assess and evaluate solutions to control workplace health hazards and thereby manage associated risk to health. This covers chemical, physical, biological agents or ergonomic factors in their various forms.

Responsibilities:

• Providing a pivotal role in helping the organisation understand health hazards and how they affect the health of workers.
• Understanding the site risk profile based on the risk assessment framework and development of the occupational hygiene field assessment strategy.
• Evaluate exposures to hazardous agents within the workplace and to determine the level of risk.
• Advise projects on the design concepts for engineering controls and support with commissioning activities and verification of effective controls where required.
• Use of qualitative and quantitative methods for monitoring and measuring exposures.
• Perform direct measurements of workplace exposure to noise, chemical agents, vibration, lighting and thermal comfort.
