What you will be doing...
As Network Equipment Engineer III you will be responsible for ordering equipment per the design specifications, tracking the orders, and managing the suppliers. You will help specific material for 4G and 5G equipment designs following the meeting maintenance engineering standards. As equipment engineer you will be accountable for creating statements of work for specific engineering projects. The successful candidate will be required to manage multiple projects, engage resources and communicate with collaborators across multiple disciplines to deliver on the network plan of record. You will be responsible for accurately updating our milestones within our project management tools, to ensure task readiness. You will be expected to be a subject matter expert on our tools, equipment, and the wireless engineering process flow. You will be responsible for meeting our regional plan-of-record goals, financial targets and will be accountable for behaving professionally at all times. When a project needs to be completed, you will determine equipment needs and order and integrate a wide range of equipment like antennas, power systems, and fiber optic cable. You'll work closely with other Network teams such as RF Design, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities and System Performance to implement new technologies and services to meet our network improvement goals. This role is instrumental in upgrading wireless infrastructure to the latest technology on a timely basis, as well as maintaining quality and performance of existing assets.
- Deployment schedules and priorities are communicated with vendors and all involved engineering groups so that timelines are met.
- Coordinating the ordering and integration process to provide complete equipment sets for projects.
- Aid in design, procure equipment and manage cell expansions including cell hardware, transmission equipment, power equipment, batteries, cables, floor space planning, HVAC, and miscellaneous hardware.
- Manage all purchasing and asset management activities using VZW platforms and supplemental tracking so that financial metrics are met.
- Work with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure their products and services meet Verizon Wireless' requirements at best cost.
- Monitor compliance with all Verizon Wireless & industry standards and practices. Ensure that Inspection and verifications are performed for all installs, and that all quality standards are met.

You enjoy the challenge of orchestrating a lot of moving parts to deliver a solution for your team. Sharing information inside and outside the company and influencing people to meet your timeline comes naturally to you. You're interested in new technologies and services in the area of cell site engineering and keep up with changing technology. Working independently is as comfortable for you as being part of a team.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience.
- Detailed knowledge of wireless technology and infrastructure, including shelter and tower design, equipment configurations, TELCO interface, DC power systems.
- Knowledge of databases, Microsoft Office applications, web-based applications, and software tool packages.
- Valid Driver's License.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Four or more years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of DC power systems used in the telecommunications environment.
- Knowledge of cellular network architecture.
- Knowledge of Samsung base station equipment, and MapInfo
