Essential Function

The Payroll Specialist, International will provide day-to-day Payroll management and support for a specific country or a number of countries. Working together with HR Services, HR Business Partners and other Payroll Specialists as a team. Further, the Payroll Specialist, International will contribute to projects in the Payroll-/HR-area. Focusing on detail & quality. Ensuring consistency in standards, recommending improvements to existing processes and implementing Payroll policies and processes.

Reports To Associate Director, Payroll

Provides Work Direction to External service providers

Works Closely with HR Business Partners, HR Services, Finance,

Payroll team

External Relationships Payroll Providers, Authorities

Key Accountabilities

  • Monthly Payroll collation, input to external provider and reconciliation tasks
  • Communication and cooperation with Payroll stakeholders
  • Supervision of Payroll processes and corrective action
  • Creation and handling of any documents
  • Creation and maintenance of process documentations in collaboration with Payroll provider
  • Cooperation with Finance on general ledger filing, accruals and reporting as needed
  • Complete Payroll tasks according to the Payroll calendar
  • Monthly validation and preparation of Payroll approvals
  • Support of internal or external audits (if applicable)
  • Potential support for other Payrolls (e.g. case-by-case as backup and if needed)

Skills

  • Several years of experience running multi-country Payroll from start to finish
  • Profound understanding of Payroll components and in performing Payroll, optimally within a multinational environment
  • Understand proper taxation of compensation elements and additional benefits
  • Understanding of benefits systems
  • Pro-active communication skills
  • Good knowledge of relevant software (MS-Office) with working knowledge in Excel and Word
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize workload and manage deadlines with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a multilateral / multinational environment
  • Experience and reliability in dealing with confidential materials
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and function effectively as a team member
  • Driven to meet Payroll metrics and team objectives
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adjusting to new ways of working

Education

  • Degree in Human Resources management, Psychology or other relevant area or vocational training and relevant experience

Language Skills

  • Very good oral and written communication skills in English and Dutch.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources or Payroll, optimally in a similar role
