Job Description

The position

The Master Data Specialist will be a key contributor in standing up Vendor & Customer Master Data processes from Vendors and procurement contracts.

Also, you will be responsible for the qualification, data analysis, data accuracy, and change control for our global Customer Master Data

The Master Data Specialist (VMD & CMD) will work with a team of around 10 professional Master Data colleagues in the GSS Global Center, ensuring all CMD & VMD processes and transactions comply with accounting standards, policies, SOX and statutory requirements.

The Master Data Specialist will utilize, business processes knowledge, and SOPs to solve issues in relation to Vendor & Customer master data in collaboration with other processes, being responsible for qualification and classification of data, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.

Work daily with our global BPO partner who executes VMD & CMDTransactional services for Organon for all our global regions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Data Governance process as applicable to the Customer & Vendor Master data domain including policies, procedures, SOPs, data dictionary, business glossary, data standards including allowed values etc.
  • Provides first level contact for items related to master data elements (operations, Vendor service, customer service, account receivables, chargebacks, account payables, etc.).
  • Identifies any master data issues (documents, escalates when applicable, and closes).
  • Review, analyses and implement files for load into SAP.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Master Data projects or manage the Master Data scope on IT projects.
  • Creating and designing the Vendor Master & Customer Master data definitions, standards, and policies.
  • Syndicates data to the appropriate applications (manual or upload) for the following master files:
    • Vendor records, Customer & Master Material Master records
    • Pricing & Contracts Master records
    • Bank details
    • Procurement contract elements
    • Financial Master records
    • Tax
    • Bank Key data
    • License Master records and License updates
    • RCS and SAP updates when license fails

  • Completes tasks in work queue as assigned to ensure timely turnaround.
  • Participates in both internal/external audits providing documentation related to master data files globally for the healthcare platform.
  • Help implement solutions for all impacted processes and applications in relevant regions and business units.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related area.

  • Fluency in English, other languages valued.

  • Strong math, analytical and systems skills with data management and MS Office.

  • Attention to details, produces accurate deliverables, and consistently meets deadlines.

  • Experience working in a multinational and multicultural environment valued.

  • Experience working in teams collaboratively valued.

  • Work under pressure and independently.
