Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Technician candidate will:+ Monitor all contractor aviation activities to ensure the proper use of protective clothing and ALSE.+ Establish a library of ALSE publications. Keep a current file of regulations, procedures and technical manuals pertaining to inspection, maintenance and use of assigned life support equipment.+ Review, analyze, and develop procedures for planning, scheduling and maintaining equipment according to AR 95-1, TC 3-04.10 and TC 3-04.72+ Develop procedures and methods to issue, care, inspect, clean, and store equipment+ Ensure that crewmembers are trained in the proper operation, use, and maintenance of survival equipment+ Ensure that unit personnel have adequate information and training before using new equipment.+ Maintain all ALSE in a high state of readiness through inspecting, cleaning, fitting, testing, adjusting and repairing.+ Maintain files on inspection intervals, maintenance expiration dates, and supply status pertaining to ALSE according to appropriate Army technical manuals, Air Force technical orders, and Navy NAVIAR publications.+ Ensure that material deficiency reports are submitted on life support equipment failing to operate as designed.+ Secure, inventory and inspect all controlled drugs contained in survival kits and vests.+ Responsible for accountability, ordering inventory, issue and inspection of all controlled drugs maintained as an operational load at Phillips Army Air Field.+ Inspection recording will be according to ALSE Technical manuals and related publications.+ Encourage personnel to make life support equipment improvement suggestions+ Participate as the ALSE Representative on the unit Aviation Safety Council+ Maintain good housekeeping practices at all time and keep work area free of clutter to ensure safe emergency exit routes**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ Employee shall possess appropriate qualifications and recent experience in pertinent areas of Aircrew Life Support Equipment maintenance, ground support equipment and military aviation.+ Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.+ Work may require employee to operate government and privately owned motor vehicles. Employee will possess a current drivers License. [A class B commercial drivers license (CDL) with tank truck, air brake, HAZMAT endorsements and a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Certificate is preferred but not required.]+ Employee may be required to work overtime or irregular hours.
