Our business helps support their way of lifeand contributes to the survival of a culture that has thrived in a challengingenvironment.**Responsibilities:**The Heavy Equipment Mechanic analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, pneumatic tools, and tracked/wheeled vehicles. This worker operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. The mechanic welds broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Hourly Compensation: $21.70**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ High School Diploma+ Ability to obtain a NAC-I+ 5 years heavy equipment maintenance experience+ Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1+ Good verbal and written communication skills+ Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening+ Valid Drivers License+ Ability to obtain a CAC+ Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.+ This position involves working both indoors and outdoors.+ Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.**Desired Skills & Experience:**+ CDL Preferred+ U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent+ ASE CertificationTheduties and responsibilities listed in this job description generally cover thenature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to thisposition.
