We strongly encourage military veterans to bring their relevant experience and expertise on board.Lynxnet personnel enjoy a competitive benefits package and challenging roles in work environments committed to diversity and opportunity for career growth.**Job Summary:**Lynxnet is seeking a Nortel Legacy/Avaya Blue Specialist responsible for working on enterprise plain old telephone service (POTS) and voice over IP (VOIP) networks, which include telephones, cabling, voicemail systems, conference systems, and for the planning, installation, maintenance, and repair of phone systems and phone infrastructure. Performs daily operations, preventive and on-site maintenance of the non-secure and secure telephone systems to include inside cable plant, distribution frame, communications closets, and telephone instruments. Plans and executes migration from analog and digital phone systems to VOIP systems. Provides new and upgraded phone and related equipment installations, cable management and labeling of the non-secure phone system, as well as maintains and updates the non-secure switch database. Provides technical support for non-secure and secure voice, associated supporting equipment, infrastructure, and fax communications lines. Provides installation/de-installation, troubleshooting and repair of telephone equipment and lines in accordance with appropriate security requirements within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities as requested by the Technical Task Manager to ensure quality service and efficient equipment operation. Provides installation/de-installation of supporting hardware, including replacement boards for the non-secure telephone switches.**Responsibilities:*** Analyzes complex telecommunication issues across multiple types of legacy and modern phone systems and implements solutions regarding engineering, operations, and maintenance* Performs or coordinates for Tier IV maintenance as required* Ensures systems are configured with current patches and updates* Configures lines for user voice conferencing and resolves conference technical problems* Ensures proper configuration and performance of installed phones and accessories* Applies new and maintains existing labels at all start, patch, and endpoints of the telecom infrastructure* Maintains an accurate database of all telecom infrastructure start, patch, and endpoints* Conducts internal quality control processes to verify conformance to industry and government standards for all telecom infrastructure items* Within general guidelines, manages assigned tasks based upon severity, workflow, and time constraints* Maintains courteous rapport, friendly customer relations, and communicates with users at their level of understanding* Coordinates with other IT Support, Network Engineers, and Server Administrators to resolve related technical issues as required**Qualifications****Minimum** **Qualifications:**+ Working Knowledge of telecom components and detailed knowledge of POTS/VoIP operation+ 4 plus years experience+ High School Diploma or GED+ Current TOP SECRET clearance with DoD SCI eligibility as reflected in JPAS+ Understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, design, concepts, and theory+ Ability kneel, squat, bend over, reach into tight spaces to complete work, and lift 50 pounds+ Must be able to perform very-infrequent travel as required.**Desired Qualifications:**+ Working experience with Nortel / Avaya Networks, basic components, and accessories+ Working experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager, VOIP phones, and accessories+ Working experience with DoD civilians, servicemembers, and government contractors+ One year of hands-on experience terminating telecom infrastructure+ One year of experience of customer service or help-desk supportThe duties and responsibilities listed in this job description generally cover the nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
