do:**+ Coordinate maintenance and Operations activities in an assigned area of the facility+ Coordinate and schedule daily maintenance activities by managing regulatory, project, production, and safety system activities to provide a productive maintenance program and to ensure the reliability of operating equipment+ Support area Turnarounds, Start-Ups, and Shutdowns by ensuring needed resources are available to support operations and maintenance and groups, as needed+ Interact regularly with unit operators+ Provide guidance and advice on unit maintenance and reliability+ Listen actively to unit operators concerning reliability or equipment issues+ Communicate effectively to schedule maintenance downtime to assure minimal impact to production+ Interact daily with area maintenance planners and schedulers to assure timely and effective completion of maintenance activities+ Comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures+ Prioritize work with maintenance group+ Proactive versus reactive approach, which includes responsibility for root cause failure analysis completion and equipment deficiency removals to increase reliability+ Review and approve work requests and assign appropriate priorities for maintenance work to be performed+ Develop & maintain outage lists+ Support and enforce the work management process to ensure consistency across the site+ Assist operations personnel as needed in the preparation of equipment for maintenance activities+ Assist in overseeing plant operation and the direction of personnel in day to day activities+ Work hand-in-hand with area Production General Supervisors, and if appropriate, assume this role in their absence+ Assist Lead Production Specialist in writing daily operating guidelines+ Ensure MOCs are approved before work begins when an MOC is required+ Give input for developing operating and maintenance budgets+ Focus on pre-planning versus reactive planning+ Track and improv mean time between failure+ PM compliance and routine evaluation and tracking for critical PMs+ Review critical maintenance KPIs and setting action plans for improvement+ Notify area Superintendent of any overtime needed with detailed explanation, if needed+ Comply with PSVs, vessel inspections, piping inspections, CUI, lifting devices, etc.+ Audit all safety check lists and unit record retention+ Continuously improve plant reliability and work efficiency through proactive planning and execution+ Review maintenance and operational work execution performance through analysis of job delays and job execution+ Account for budgetary items and labor costs associated with scheduling+ Develop and administer both short- and long-term planning activities+ Primary liaison for their assigned area+ Ensure compliance on predictive maintenance equipment, instruments, relief valves, interlocks, outage preparation, PSM requirements for Safety and Quality, Tap Roots, HAZOPS, Title V compliance, customer complaint audits, and insurance audits, to ensure work is performed in a timely manner+ Schedule, and execute maintenance activities for process equipment for shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages+ Communicate maintenance requirements to operations to ensure area work is prepared in a safe manner for maintenance activities**What you will bring:**+ High school diploma or equivalent+ 5-10 years experience in operational/maintenance process area along with 5+ years in a supervisory role+ Post-secondary education in vocational-technical school in maintenance technology or craft area, is preferred+ Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the chemical processes, mechanical equipment, and an understanding of best maintenance practices+ Ability to make difficult trade-offs (thinking through risks and rewards) around work prioritization decisions+ Strong conflict resolution skills to ensure correct prioritization decision is made even if unpopular+ Strong ownership to identify problems, collect data, establish key facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions+ Ability to balance a number of different issues at the same time such as PM compliance, backlog management, overtime levels, etc.+ Adaptive leadership style to interact and communicate with subordinates, peers, and management+ Ability to keep track of a frequently shifting set of to-do items that are a mix of immediate and long-term needs+ Ability to clearly explain their decision-making and be proactive on communication+ Technical knowledge and judgment to develop and recommend solutions+ Ability to be comfortable
