Job Summary

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of Amentum, is seeking an experienced Staff Procurement Specialist in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will possess advanced experience and knowledge of specialized procurement activities in Firm-Fixed Price, Time & Material, Labor Hour, and Cost Reimbursement environments. Must have experience in source selection process, preparing and conducting solicitations, leading technical evaluation teams, negotiations, documenting all aspects of procurement activities and performing subcontract administration. Be able to award subcontracts and purchase orders for complex materials, services, construction, fabrication, engineered equipment, and staff augmentation services following established policies and procedures. Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced procurement personnel. Review and settle claims and termination actions. Participate in formulation and review of procurement policies and procedures. Identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to NWP management on issues or concerns related to cost/price, integration facility activities/readiness, environmental or quality issues.

This position offers the choice of working off-site / teleworking from your home location or relocation assistance to one of NWP’s office locations.

NWP Exempt Salary Grade (34).


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 15 years of business related experience, or
  • Associates Degree with 19 years of business related experience, or
  • High School Diploma or GED with 23 years of business related experience is required.
  • Due to nature of work, candidates must be US Citizen.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement and subcontracting in Federal Contract Management working with Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) including some knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR) is preferred.
  • CPM, CPCM, or Core FAC certifications such as APDP Level II or DAIWA Level II are desired.
  • Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
