Job Summary

The Warehouse Specialist Team Lead rate of pay will be $19.42 per hour. The hours of operation will be 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position is potentially Not To Exceed (NTE) 31 Dec 21, with an opportunity to advance to a permanent position with Amentum.

Purpose and Scope:

The Warehouse Specialist Team Lead performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishments storage plan. A Lead Person is a working employee charged with the responsibility of leading, directing, and approving the work of other employees. Position reports to a supervisor or manager. Rearrange and examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Warehouse Specialist Team Lead Department provides daily work assignment to other storage personnel (e.g., Shipping/Receiving clerks, Material handlers, Forklift operators, Shipper packers, stock clerks) assigned to the work center, which includes performance of general duties and responsibilities associated with the efficient flow of materials and processes associated with the warehouse function.
  2. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  3. Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations; stores, stacks or palletizes material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  4. Makes detailed work allocations as instructed by the supervisor and/or customer maintenance representative.
  5. Responsible for furnishing sufficient and accurate information to employees working under his direction.
  6. Interprets information, answer questions, review, check/inspect work, and eliminate ordinary difficulties.
  7. Responsible for the work under their direction within their work group.
  8. The Lead Person does not assume any supervisory prerogatives.
  9. The Lead Person does not establish work standards within the group, administer or recommend hire, fire or discipline of any employee.
  10. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Six to twelve months of job related experience is required.
  • Must be able to operate Material Handler Equipment (MHE).
  • Position may require ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
