Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Network Support Specialist at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA to install, configure, test, operate, maintain, and manage network devices including hardware, software, and operating systems that permit information sharing across the full spectrum of transmission using all media. You will also be supporting the security of information and information systems.

The normal duty hours are Monday through Friday 0800 to 1700 hour except Federal Holidays, unless otherwise specified due to mission requirements. During training, the workday could last up to 10 hours per day (frequently more than 40 hours a week) to include some weekends and federal holidays. However, this may vary depending on the Government or course requirements. You'll support Amentum’s efforts at the Government site to provide specialized training support of military personnel.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field, and at least 2 years of work experience in the areas of: System/Network Administration, Server Administration, and/or Information System Security
    • Or an Associate’s degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field, and at least 6 years of work experience in the areas of: System/Network Administration, Server Administration, and/or Information System Security
  • Possess at least one or more Department of Defense (DoD) Baseline Certifications at IAT Level II, such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, and/or SSCP
  • Experience in the following areas: Deployment/Maintenance of IT networks consisting of computer systems and network servers, network interfaces, and associated equipment, and automated Patch Management solutions
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining Windows 10 operating systems for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Environment: SIPR, NIPR, Commercial
  • Experience configuring, deploying and maintaining of Commercial Solution for Classified systems and the capabilities packages in the SOF Information Environment
  • Experience as administrator of a network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies experience and knowledge of DoD certification and accreditation processes
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products and setting up remote access for users
  • Understanding of the role of firewalls, infrastructure, devices, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networks, routers, and guards in enclave boundary protection
  • Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
