ITS DAS Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

In this role the incumbent will lead efforts in enterprise software administration, programming, and analysis. In addition, the professional will be responsible for developing and implementing business plans, policies, and procedures

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages enterprise software administration, programming, and analysis
  • Develops and implements business plans, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborates with other departments to prioritize enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • Evaluate results within business unit to determine if organizational objectives are being met
  • Analyze and resolve enterprise software issues and needs including improvement of system efficiency and integration of existing software applications into ERP solutions

Required Technical Skills:
  • Analyze, recommend, and implement innovative solutions for Payroll Business Processes.
  • Evaluate & recommend necessary customizations to the Payroll schema to satisfy business requirements.
  • Provide on-shore leadership to support the off-shore development and configuration requirements of the Talent Channel in SES.
  • Provide consultative guidance in the area of expertise.
  • Analyze, design, and recommend technical directions and functional guidance for SAP Payroll solutions.
  • Solve problems via debugging and/or analyzing configuration and data.
  • Document functional, technical specifications, and solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Review technical and functional delivery plans to ensure the proper approach is followed.
  • Contribute and recommend standards and enrichment opportunities in the area of expertise.
  • Lead meetings as necessary to understand functional requirements and lead project delivery.
  • Evaluate and propose alternative solutions for complex design and development issues.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and functional enhancements and apply best practices for solution delivery.
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical project resources and adjust communication style for both audiences.
  • Understand and oversee Payroll Tax Updates and upgrade release verifications.
  • Develop and Maintain test scenarios to validate application functionality and integration.
  • Execute testing to ensure quality and performance optimization.
  • Lead peer reviews and ensure that solutions are aligned to specifications and designs
  • Provide regular status updates and lead project delivery meetings
  • Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline;
  • Minimum of 8+ years of directly related experience including subject matter expertise in area(s) managed, as well as at least one year of leadership responsibility.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of development/configuration experience in SAP technology. SAP development experience is required.
  • Experience with SAP HCM and SAP US Payroll is required.
  • Experience with SAP R/3 Enterprise (release 7.0 or higher) is preferred. Experience with ECC 6.0 or higher is required.
  • Experience with Payroll schema customization is required.
  • Expert in payroll clusters and tables is required.
  • Experience with BSI Tax Factory and applying Tax Update Bulletins is a plus.
  • Experience debugging software is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Experience in working with an off-shore model is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
