Aircraft QC Inspector II (Sierra Army Depot) "Aircraft Parts and Equipment Inspector" (Hangar)
Job Summary
The QC Inspector II inspects aircraft parts and equipment to determine serviceability and ensures correct documentation and records are completed. The QC Inspector II works in an Army Depot Logistics facility responsible for the receipt, inspection, and onward movement of components and equipment.
- Plans, conducts technical inspections of parts and aircraft components
- Inspects and evaluates maintenance of aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
- Contributes input to development and implementation of quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of component discrepancies.
- Perform other qualified duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Five (5) or more years recent experience in relevant aviation aircraft/systems.
A&P License/FAA Certification preferred.
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to obtain and maintain a NAC-I Public trust and CAC card
Valid Driver’s license required
US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
Broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and technical publications.
Working knowledge of aircraft safety requirements and how to operate portable firefighting equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications.
Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills are required.
Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
Basic computer data entry skills required for use of maintenance and logistics databases.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.
Work may be outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.
Will handle dirty parts and lubricants.
May work in maintenance shop or outside.
