With a strong medicines pipeline our current transformation will not just deliver growth for our business but continue to allow us to bring innovative medicines to patients quickly.<br><br><br>In this role, you will be responsible for autonomous case management for employment and litigation matters (including government investigations/claims) as well as discussion of strategies for cases with in-house and outside counsel. Manages the day-to-day communications and requests from outside counsel including working cross-divisionally at all levels. Coordinates paralegal input at both a divisional and cross-divisional level. Manages administrative relations with Vendors. Acts as a reliable point of contact for some regional issues and as a divisional system administrator for key internal databases, having responsibility for systems functionality and testing, compliance, and user training. Overall, be the first level user contact. Supports the work of less experienced paralegals on complex employment and litigation activities.<br><br>Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:<br><br>• Interacts with discovery case managers and subject matter experts within the business to collect information for investigative and discovery purposes<br>• Attendance at witness interviews, witness preparation for depositions and trial, attends depositions, mediations, and trials<br>• Provides non-legal advice to business colleagues, collaborating with the business under the supervision of project leads to ensure business goals are met in an efficient and timely manner.<br>• Conduct factual investigation including witness interview; conduct factual and legal research; investigate the facts of the case; familiarity with databases <br>• Process settlements and ensure that documentation is in accordance with internal policies; liaises with department eBilling coordinator regarding vendor invoicing issues<br>• Assess documentation received at the commencement of action and manage distribution to appropriate internal and external parties <br>• Interview employees to obtain background information <br>• Review pleadings, legal and other vendor bills for matters; reviews and drafts litigation preparatory documents such as CI summaries/updates, legal research notes, assist in preparation of objections/arguments and supporting documents, and communicate with local counsel, external co-owners, licensors, patentees regarding same, as appropriate<br>• Manage discovery requests and responses to interrogatories with outside counsel; Review, index, gather, and summarize company documents to be used by outside counsel for production <br>• Reviews, drafts, amends pleadings and handles patent and standard legal documents such as powers of attorney, notice letters, tender letters, patent assignments, confirmatory assignments, and licenses with little attorney supervision, including interaction with local business and local counsel; draft memoranda including position statements in response to EEOC charges; draft affidavits; respond to subpoenas; draft legal holds<br><br><br>Our selection process will prioritize US-based associates whose roles may be changing or may be impacted as a result of the Transforming for Growth reorganization.
