  • The Executive Director, Hematology Portfolio Marketing and Thought Leader Alliances is a position within the US commercial organization responsible for coordinating the enterprise around a customer-focused approach to advancing our BMS Hematology strategy and elevating our customers’ experience with BMS, solidifying BMS as a leader in Hematology.
  • This critical leadership position will liaise with matrix leads across BMS-wide Hematology (US marketing and sales, worldwide hematology, Value, Access & Payment, medical, government affairs, etc) within approved SOPs.
  • The position will report to the Vice President, US Myeloma Marketing, Hematology Portfolio Marketing & Thought Leader Alliances, and US Established Hematology Brands.
  • Key Responsibilities

    Hematology Portfolio Marketing

  • Oversee the team coordinating strategy and opportunities for the US Hematology Portfolio in the GPO, Organized Customer, and IDN space
  • Team is responsible for coordinating the portfolio presence at regional and national congresses
  • Organizing the marketing teams around an approach to sponsorships to ensure support for strategic opportunities and partnerships
  • Help to identify and enable the pull-through of successful marketing solutions from a single marketing team to an enterprise capability
  • Take account of roles and responsibilities of current HPM team, and identify areas of opportunity to advance US Hematology’s strategy and goals
  • Thought Leader Alliances

  • Build a team of specialized talent to ensure strategic and coordinated Hematology Thought Leader engagements across all matrix partners within BMS
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the capability of this new structure within Hematology
  • Develop a deep understanding of the myeloid, myeloma, and lymphoma diseases, market/development landscape, and strategies
  • Additionally, develop a deep understanding of and cultivate productive relationships with all functions at BMS who interact with Hematology Thought Leaders
  • In coordination with matrix partners, formulate long-term strategic plans around key Thought Leaders to help further BMS Hematology goals
  • Ensure a positive and collaborative experience for thought leaders engaging with BMS functions
  • Design a formal communication structure to ensure alignment and progress with strategic plans
  • Chair monthly governance meetings with Senior Leader matrix partners to elevate challenges and potential solutions which impact our current and future success, and identifying opportunities at the disease or franchise level
  • Participate and attend Congresses and other industry meetings
  • Compliance & Integrity

  • Work with the highest degree of professionalism and in accordance with applicable BMS policies and governing laws, rules and regulations, industry codes and the company’s Principles of Integrity
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in one of the following: product marketing, field sales or field medical
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Oncology or specialty therapeutics
  • Marketing, Sales Management, and / or launch experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with thought leader engagement, ad boards and speaker’s bureau strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively engage and activate a team of matrix partners around a shared vision
  • Strong business acumen. Understands market dynamics, business drivers, corporate goals and impact on strategy
  • Clinical knowledge and aptitude in complex disease states. Desire to continuously learn and improve by applying new knowledge and skills on the job
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Self-driven with strong organizing and planning skills. Able to determine effective approaches and take the appropriate action based on the available information and consistent with the over-arching strategy
  • Ability to leverage appropriate interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance of ideas or plans
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to try innovative, novel compliant ways to deal with work problems and opportunities
  • Business travel, by air or car, is regularly required
