Job Description

Our Sourcing team partner with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.

The Executive Director of Marketing Procurement directs/ implements complex regional/ global strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve savings and cost effectiveness in support of our company's organization and internal business systems. This person will partner closely with the Marketing Leadership team.

The leader provides high level leadership in contract negotiations to ensure that the objectives of internal senior stakeholders are met and sustained. The leader also acts as the key liaison between regional teams to ensure the alignment of Marketing sourcing strategies globally.

Our company's Marketing team is in the middle of a multi-year transformation and looking for a dynamic supplier management partner to be a leader in that change. This person is expected to lead cross-functional teams of stakeholders through a consistent sourcing process to deliver breakthrough results. The position requires project management skills and a proven ability to proactively manage complex change management issues, both internal and external, through to successful completion. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing Sourcing support for our company's global Marketing team with responsibilities that include Marketing category strategy development, supplier management and stakeholder support

  • Interfacing with internal Marketing stakeholders to support our company's strategic objectives and to identify and prioritize cost-savings, value generation and other optimization opportunities

  • Supporting vendor management efforts for commercial, service and/or quality issues

  • Leading cross-functional teams to identify and select preferred vendors for advertising, media, outsourced data analytics, primary market research and marketing services

  • Manage our company's RFP process for all strategic sourcing requests by utilizing e-Sourcing tools

  • Negotiating complex Marketing contracts and fully capturing our company's Marketing business requirements

  • Meeting or exceeding all Procurement cost savings and budgetary commitments

  • Develop and implement inclusive sourcing plans that reach out and include all possible and relevant Diverse Suppliers in the US and globally


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field such as Marketing, Business or similar

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Seasoned professional with 10+ years of work experience in relevant areas of Marketing and/or Marketing Procurement.

  • Knowledge of Advertising agencies, Media providers, Marketing data analytics, primary market research and marketing services necessary for success with the suppliers (desired)

  • Strong manager of people with a working knowledge of procurement-related sourcing business process (preferred)

  • Drive organizational development and people leadership within Marketing Procurement as well as within the Indirect Procurement team.

  • Experience in presenting complex financial data to develop consensus and buy-in

  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to lead multiple, highly visible programs

  • Experienced with the negotiation of global/international Marketing and legal contract terms and conditions

  • Knowledgeable in how to perform Marketing benchmarking and collecting competitive data

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to optimize customer/vendor relationships

  • Proven track record in negotiation, communication, leadership, analytical and prioritization skills

  • Ability to bring creativity and innovation to problem solving, organizational development and people leadership

  • Ability to work self-directed in a fast-paced global matrixed environment

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and support multiple concurrent projects

  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement initiatives

  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work with international teams, often remotely

  • A proven track record in stakeholder engagement and collaboration driving strong partnerships

  • Able to travel up to 20% (as needed)
