Position Summary
As an integral leader within the US Medical Immunology & Fibrosis team, the Executive Director leads the US Sotyktu Medical team. The lead will drive strategic medical planning and execution in the US Market for deucravacitinib including medical tactics and medical evidence generation to support appropriate use and adoption of medicines. In collaboration with cross-functional partners, they will also contribute to the planning and development of regional data generation, life cycle management initiatives and support the learning and development of internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads development of medical plan that is both product specific & disease area focused and in alignment with US Commercial (USC) and Home Office Medical (HOM), translating appropriate USC and HOM strategies into effective US Medical launch and life cycle management activities.
- Active leadership and participation as core member on the Home Office Medical Team and closely collaborating and partnering with worldwide counterparts to craft the HOM plan that ensures US market needs are addressed.
- Leadership of USM cross-functional medical teams that include USM data generation and knowledge transfer resources to drive timely and flawless execution.
- Transparent communication and close collaboration with US Commercial & Access (HEOR) organizations to integrate medical perspectives into the commercialization process and ensure appropriate alignment between commercial and medical.
- Externally focused and connected to high impact external influencers to identify & translate key insights and to appropriately drive adoption of BMS medicines.
- Leadership of TA aligned field-facing resources that provide them with the necessary coaching to ensure customer objectives are met.
- Contributes (when appropriate) to shaping the competitive strategies around pricing and reimbursement by influencing a US perspective for the target product profile, label language and value considerations.
- Continually measure and assess the effectiveness of USM medical plans.
- Maintain clinical, scientific & technical expertise in Dermatology related areas.
- Ensures all strategies, plans and tactics are in line with legal and compliance requirement.
Degree Requirements
- MD, PHD or PharmD with 10 or more years of experience working in Medical or clinical roles in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)
- Candidate should have the ability to speak English. Medical Affairs experience preferred
- Dermatology Therapeutic Area scientific expertise
- Ability to think medically & strategically about short term and long-term impacts with US Dermatology healthcare landscape
- Must be familiar with all phases of drug development, including clinical development, regulatory and life cycle management.
- Proven impact and influence with key thought leaders (TLs)
- Ability to develop strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience leading strategically, driving performance, and communicating with impact across complex matrix environment.
- Proven enterprise/business mindset with past demonstration of strong collaboration with commercial, access, R&D and other core partners
- Launch expertise in therapeutic area
- Ability to effectively engage with strong influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills
- Strong change leadership
- Experience with people management within previous industry positions
- Ability to build & lead diverse and results- oriented high-performance teams
- HQ based position with expected 30% travel within the continental US (occasional international & weekend travel)
