Job Description

Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

Our Finance team brings together our financial perspectives into our overall strategic and tactical decision making. We use state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting and performance evaluation. This allows the organization to continue advancing medical innovation and improve lives.

The Executive Director, Human Health Finance COE, leads an international team of approximately 11 and is responsible for leading financial planning and analysis activities for our company's Human Health (HH) commercial division. The Executive Director provides direct financial / business support for the Senior Vice President, HH Finance and HH’s Executive Team members.

Primary responsibilities under the Executive Director and their team include:

  • Leading the HH Division’s overall monthly close, budget, quarterly forecast, long range operating plan, and other Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities. This includes establishing global and international guidance, ensuring appropriate controls, analyzing the financials and associated drivers, understanding risks/ opportunities, and effectively communicating the outputs.

  • Preparing clear and concise financial analyses/ information for key stakeholders including, but not limited to the Human Health Operating Committee, HH Finance Leadership, the Executive Team, the Board of Directors, Corporate Finance, and Investor Relations

  • Creating key messages and core slides for Total HH presentations to various stakeholders

  • Supporting multiple divisional projects/ financial evaluations

  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis support for the Human Health Operating Committee (HHOC) and the Human Health International team, and Corporate Finance

A successful candidate would be expected to:

  • Build strong global relationships across the business and finance teams to have a full understanding of HH’s key strategic priorities, business/ financial drivers, and risks/ opportunities; The Executive Director should stay closely connected with all HH regional and franchise teams

  • Effectively communicate HH’s key financial/ business drivers at the appropriate level of depth to senior management (e.g. Corporate Finance, HHOC, HH Finance Leadership)

  • Have a firm understanding of our company's FP&A processes and continuously pursue opportunities to shape and optimize HH’s FP&A processes to drive simplification, increased accuracy, etc.

  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity or risk in HH’s financials and make associated recommendations

  • Effectively manage numerous high-priority and time-sensitive deliverables in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment

  • Mentor and coach ~3 direct reports and ~8 next line reports

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Minimum of a BA/ BS Degree

  • Preferred: MBA, CPA or CFA

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10 - 12 years of relevant business experience supporting FP&A and/or the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong executive presence and ability to process large amounts of information / data into the relevant messages for senior executives

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong leadership/ project management skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive deliverables

  • High attention to detail

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Diverse Financial Planning & Analysis experience including working knowledge of our company's FP&A processes and systems

  • Experience working across cultures and divisions

  • Experience leading a large and/or remote team

Expected salary range:

$213,280.00 - $335,700.00
