Job Description

The Human Health Insights, Analytics and Data Lead serves as the overall data lead for Human Health who will lead a data team responsible for developing a coherent global strategy for organizing, governing, analyzing, and deploying our Company's information assets as a competitive advantage.

The HHIAD Data Lead is responsible for leading the development and governance of our Global data and information management strategy in order to drive business decisions and growth. The candidate will be responsible for leading a central data team for Human Health that will develop a coherent global strategy for integrating the procurement, ingestion, organization, management, deployment, and consumption of our Company's Human Health Commercial information assets. The Human Health Data organization will be responsible for promoting visibility and accessibility of our primary, secondary, and syndicated data assets by leveraging universal data platforms and knowledge management systems in order to promote synergy and collaboration across subsidiary markets. The HH data organization will work in partnership with HHIT to enable a hub & spoke framework with markets around the world to support local market data strategy while enabling a consistent approach to data management across HH. The Data Lead will provide the foundation to enable our Advanced Analytics programs to develop and deliver “data driven” insights around the world.

Specifically, the Data Lead will be responsible for providing the following data functions:

HH Data & Platform Strategy & Discovery

  • Data Investigation
    • Lead understanding of the landscape for each therapy area and identify new data assets required to fill prioritized gaps at the global level while partnering with the markets to ensure consistency in local level data strategy & acquisition
    • Assess the new data asset(s) “Fit for Purpose”
  • Data Procurement
    • Enable country teams to set market level data strategy and procure data to meet local needs consistent with global HH framework for procurement, ingestion, cataloging, etc.
    • Lead global data purchasing while partnering with country teams for procurement of local data assets, including primary, secondary, and syndicated data
    • Manage vendor purchase orders and invoices, contract request to approval, and vendor spend related to global data purchases
    • Populate and update the central data catalogue with new data assets from global purchases
  • Data Platform Solution Architecture (in partnership with HHIT)
    • Responsible for the Global Commercial Data, Knowledge Management, Vendor Management, and Use Case Library Reference Models and Capabilities
    • Maintain and expand HH Data Platform Reference Model and Capabilities
    • Maintain and expand HH Knowledge Management System Model and Capabilities
    • Maintain and expand HH Use Case Library Reference Model and Capabilities
    • Maintain and expand HH Vendor Management Reference Model and Capabilities
    • Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate new data assets for consumption by downstream systems and analytic processes

Data Stewardship

  • Data Quality
    • Responsible for the accuracy, relevance, completeness, timeliness and consistency of data across HH
    • Proactively identifies and works to resolve data quality issues across HH projects
  • Data Standards
    • Responsible for the development and adherence of data standards across Human Health including ingestion, storage, consumption, and cataloguing of existing and new data in partnership with HHIT
    • Monitors the adherence of existing and new data with standards related to data lineage/provenance, representation, format, definitions, structuring, tagging, transmission, manipulation, use and management of data.
    • Proactively identifies and works to resolve data standards issues on existing and new data assets
  • Data Stewardship & Management
    • Responsible for the curation, access, usage, security, & compliance of the data assets.
    • Ensures the quality and fitness for purpose of the existing and new data assets. Including metadata.
    • Includes coordination and streamlining with Real World Date Ex and all country teams.

Data Operations (Delivery Excellence)

  • Data Training & Reporting
    • Responsible for the training related to the usage of the primary data applications, (including OneView, OneSearch, COMPASS, PYXIS, PatientView app, HIV app, ToT app, data assets SDOH)
    • Overall responsibility for the reporting, including dashboards and monitoring.
  • Data Tool Administration (in partnership with HHIT)
    • Responsible for the administration of data tools, including OneView, OneSearch, COMPASS, PYXIS, PatientView app, HIV app, ToT app, data assets SDOH.
    • Enable setting up accounts (or single sign on), monitoring performance and maintaining systems, troubleshooting issues and outages, ensuring security, upgrades (new releases and models)
  • Third Party Vendor Management for global purchases
    • Responsible for vendor management and monitoring of adherence to the policies and procedures for engagement with our Company
    • Manage vendors from execution to expiration, renewal, or amendment.
    • Verify data use is consistent with the contracts, including secure storage and user access.

To be successful, the Data Lead will:

  • Serve as a member of the HHIAD Leadership Team responsible for the execution of the overall data mission and vision.
  • Lead, and inspire globally diverse data teams while partnering with country data strategy leads and HHIT partners to enable a global data ecosystem that meets the needs of HH
  • Deploy a coherent, integrated global data strategy for the ingestion, organization, and management of HH Commercial internal / external primary, secondary, and syndicated data assets by leveraging commercial data platforms to provide a secure and scalable environment to support the entire HH Commercial data ecosystem.
  • Enable visibility, accessibility and usability for the deployment and consumption of HH Commercial internal / external primary, secondary, and syndicated data assets by leveraging knowledge management systems and use case library to drive differentiated business and customer impacts across the HH Commercial data ecosystem.
  • Establish a consistent and efficient centralized data procurement approach for the contracting purchasing and acquiring of HH Commercial data assets by leveraging contract and vendor management systems to address gaps, maximize T&C’s to fully realize the value of data, leverage purchasing power and eliminate duplicate HH Commercial data purchases.
  • Promote alignment and collaboration across HHIAD, IT, Markets, Regions, and Global data initiatives by leveraging communication and collaboration tools to achieve economies of scale and synergies across the HH Commercial data ecosystem.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience.

Required Experience and Skills**:

  • 10+ years’ experience serving in a senior-level data leadership role with demonstrated ability to think strategically and objectively.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in Global Healthcare and IT environments.
  • 10+ years’ experience in data strategies, stewardship, and information technology systems and tools.
  • Successful track record of developing business partnerships across a highly matrixed global organization.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professionalism and ethical behavior.
