What you’ll be doing...

Reporting to the CSG SVP CIO, this position will be responsible for managing the global CSG P&L Process, leading the CSG Investment Council, governing all CSG programs and commitments, as well as direct accountability for the CSG PMO Portfolio and Project Management Office. This position will lead the Chief of Staff office for the CIO in support of the CGS Leadership Team agenda to include change management, staff and communications agenda.

As the leader of the S&O organization and with direct reports globally, this position will be responsible for implementing, optimizing and coordinating execution of end-to-end strategy, financial governance, and portfolio and PM performance. In this roleyou will be responsible for ensuring that the right demand is identified, prioritized, funded and optimized to maximize business and technology outcomes. They will ensure that the portfolio process is aligned and integrated with the financial management process and will support the annual business planning and update cycles – as well as driving continuous improvement.

The incumbent will establish and manage financial P&L processes aligned with the Verizon FP&A and TO processes, facilitate and lead the portfolio alignment of business and technology strategic objectives and financial guardrails, and manage the processes for tracking and supporting investments throughout the investment lifecycle. They will create Insights and Analytics to help balance capability levels with sustained spend competitiveness. Also, they will establish a mechanism to track, monitor and enhance business value planning and delivery.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for enhancing a global framework for portfolio and the project management office aligned with modern agile, lean and design thinking practices - driving improved project outcomes through the application of consistent, robust processes (lean, agile, design thinking) and toolsets (Jira, Tableau etc). Additionally, they will function as a thought leader across CSG and GTS, participating in efforts to improve and standardize strategy, planning, capacity modelling and execution across the enterprise.

This director will support a global, cross organizational investment portfolio and lead a council for the ESP global functions that will optimize spend, leverage technology investments, align investments as well as report on portfolio performance and financial insights for considerations to drive global function leverage, operational agility and maturity.

This individual will support the CSG SVP CIO in the definition, maintenance and tracking of the global strategies. They will establish processes to ensure that the strategies are regularly reviewed and refreshed to ensure that they align to key business and enterprise-wide corporate technology strategies, architectures and priorities. Additionally, they will work with Product Line and Business Technology leaders to ensure that the corporate strategies carry through the overall planning lifecycle, integrating with long-term strategic planning, 3-year capital planning, and annual investment and business planning. Leading the Chief of Staff office will assist the SVP/CIO in setting leadership team meeting agendas, executing those meetings, coordinating the follow ups, maintaining the ongoing list of topics and required discussion items are also part of the responsibilities. Lastly, will partner with the CSG team to establish and execute an organizational communications strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive positive change via the evaluation and selection of technologies that meet current and future CIO needs. To help teams with actual adoption and transition to the target technology platform and best practices based architecture.

  • Ensure that the Technologies also drive cost optimization and standardization across the cross-CIO ecosystem, leading to a platforms-based architecture

  • Implement reference use cases that show the relevance and value from technologies to business units

  • Run and Operate a Technology Review Board to drive visibility and transparency for technology decisions across the organization

  • Establish and ensure technology evaluations follow a standardized process incorporating industry best practices, maturity assessment of current and future capabilities, domain expertise from developers and business partners, including a process for RFIs, RFPs

  • Work with various functional LOB SPOCs & business stakeholders to build digital ecosystems using the latest tools and technologies, identifying the use of open-source and custom software components as appropriate.

  • Manage compliance and security for CSG

What we’re looking for...

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in Strategy and/or Operational roles in EA, portfolio and/or project management is required.
  • Experience in Portfolio and Project Management systems is required.
  • Previous people management experience is required.
  • Experience leading and managing large programs and projects is required.
  • Strong strategy management, analytical thinking, problem solving, learning agility, communication and collaboration skills are required.
  • Experience working with senior executives to establish and execute an organizational communications strategy is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities in a shared services organization that matrixes across multiple CIOs.
  • The Director will work closely with the GTS leadership team and VPs.
