Lead accounting efforts for one of Optum Insights newest Market Performance Partnerships.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform account reconciliations and analyses, review general ledger accounts, and prepare journal entries in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
  • Lead the month-end close process for assigned contract
  • Partner with Project Managers and Client Executives to understand project activity and deliverables to facilitate accurate recording and reporting of contract activity
  • Partner with Revenue and Billing team to ensure accurate project setup and to develop solutions for unique and complex billing and revenue model requirements
  • Perform work in a self-directed manner solving complex accounting issues and transactions
  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting including a solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement interaction
  • 3+ years of Accounting experience including month-end close, preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
  • Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical accounting experience
  • Experience with Peoplesoft Financials, Hyperion SmartView and Blackline
  • Public accounting experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • CPA designation
  • Self-starter and solid time management
  • Organized and able to work on multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
