Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations and postings to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Record monthly journal entries and develop underlying support
- Stay abreast of new accounting rules and make appropriate changes in policies and procedures
- Plan and execute the ongoing re-assessment of internal controls over financial reporting
- Assist in preparing and issuing the annual audited financial statements and related disclosures. Responsible for coordinating key stakeholders comments and review including the external auditors, CFO, Controller, and CEO
- Maintains the Bank’s monthly accrual process. Ensures that all expenses have been properly accrued and accounted for
- Interface and assist the Financial Reporting Manager and Controller with the internal and external audits conducted at the Bank throughout the fiscal year. Represent the finance department in clarifying accounting issues
- Assist with the annual vendor management review
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot financial problems to ensure operational effectiveness and maintain proper controls
- Work with different departments throughout the Bank on various projects to provide finance’s perspective and input

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance or related field
- 3+ years of accounting/finance experience
- Solid understanding of accounting theory
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- CPA designation
- Public accounting experience
- Experience in the banking industry
- Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Proven highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Demonstrated ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
