What you’ll be doing...

In this role you will be supporting the Global Network Management team as a Finance Manager in Planning & Forecasting. Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.

• Review equipment requirement based on proposed design/architecture and determine cost efficiency and profitability.
• Equipment requirement evaluation after buyer submits the bill of material (BOM).
• Analyze if the best vendor was selected for the build.
• Advise the buyer if any discrepancy or part is missing.
• Make revisions to the equipment order after discussions about budget and cost efficiency
• Work with vendor to get a forecast for hardware.
• Work with Principal Engineers and planning to build the Plan of Record or budget for future year.
• Provide input about part prices, supply chain constraints and any other market factor that may impact budget or build.
• Provide input for monthly and quarterly capital spend for VCP.
• Track the vendor lead times for all parts/orders to assure timely delivery of shipment.
• Coordinate with warehouse to assure they are ready to receive the hardware.
• Assure that the other members in team are processing the orders and good receipts as per the financial spend plan.
• Participate in activities understanding the build process for both Verizon Cloud Platform and evaluate initiatives to shorten lifecycle.
• Participate in multiple parallel large-scale projects with a high level of technical and financial complexity.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager

What we’re looking for...

What you'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Six or more years of related work experience.
• Vendor management experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
• Broad understanding of all Network disciplines including Operations, Engineering and System Performance.
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills, and customer advocacy.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work individually with minimum supervision and to think out of the box.
• Knowledge of Openstack/RedHat.
• Knowledge of Transport Equipment.
