Job Summary

Responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial studies and reports. Works with functional and operations managers to develop annual budgets and provides recommendations on functional areas to focus on when cost performance is not in line with targets.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepares annual operating budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports to reflect actual performance to budgets.
  • Identifies cause for cost overruns to budget and supports functional and operations managers to work corrective actions to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Prepares forecasts to support estimates at completion and total funding requirements by CLIN for each delivery order assigned.
  • Works with procurement and subcontracts on accuracy of open commitments to support accuracy of forecasts.
  • May specialize in project finance, financial analysis or cash management.
  • Ensures that all reports and disclosures comply with applicable regulations, standards and organizational policies.
  • Under close supervision, performs a variety of assignments requiring the knowledge and ability to select and apply standard financial techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Provides Analysis of past and present financial operations performance to support accurate forecasts

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or demonstrated equivalent. Entry level position. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position requires the ability to qualify for and maintain a government Top Secret Security Clearance. Possess a valid state issued driver’s license. Position may require travel.


Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
