FINANCIAL DILIGENCE AND INTEGRATION SENIOR CONSULTANT

The role supports the US Firm across a range of projects related to the firm's strategy and financial performance. The Senior Consultant will work closely with the Finance & Administration organization and other firm Businesses and Enabling Areas throughout the lifecycle of an M&A transaction. What you'll do

  • Support M&A Finance Managers in diligence efforts which include in-depth and comprehensive financial and operational analysis, quality of earnings, strategic fit and identification of potential integration considerations with the intent for Senior Leadership (CFO, Chief Accounting Officer) to be educated for the Board, Strategic Investment Committee and Executive on critical points and findings that may challenge the decision to buy or not.
  • Engage and collaborate with Corporate Development and Business Sponsors; plan and execute workshops with targets to facilitate diligence and integration
  • Conduct detailed business case reviews in coordination with Corporate development to challenge assumptions and targets and perform a comparison against Deloitte results to assess impact from a financial and operational standpoint. Prepare presentations with key findings and recommendations for leadership
  • Create work plan to migrate target into Deloitte and hold self and others accountable to make sure project is on track.
  • Support integration planning, including gaining a deep understanding of the targeted business and accounting processes to evaluate the integration risks and challenges when developing plans across multiple projects
  • Assess target's existing contracts to understand value of contracts, revenue recognized to date, billing status and outstanding balances
  • Prepare internal reports and presentations for senior leadership on acquisition performance and financial trends, including acquisition return on investment (ROI) for Strategic Investment Committee
  • Support international ventures with Deloitte global firms in diligence, integration and post-deal support including investment tracking, reporting, forecasting, planning, and resolving issues
  • Coach and mentor junior team members including analysts and summer interns

About the team

The Mergers & Acquisition Finance team provides specialized support of US Firm mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and Member Firm combinations. The team brings a mix of accounting, finance, Firm knowledge, project management and strategy and operations consulting skill sets to each deal in an effort to analyze, plan, execute and manage the finance aspects of the acquisition. We are a tightly-knit high-performing team, pride ourselves on exceptional service and the ability to build long-term, mutually beneficial, trusted partnerships across the firm. We strive to deliver out of the box thinking and creative solutions as each deal is unique and brings new challenges to solve. Although the team is disbursed nationally, we are well connected in a virtual setting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related subject
  • Minimum of 4 or more years relevant finance, consulting, M&A or professional services experience
  • MBA from a top 50 school and Previous Consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The applicant must possess strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of the organization regarding sensitive information.
  • Excellent power point capabilities and ability to create compelling presentations to drive buy-in and socialization of recommendations; able to 'tell the story'
  • Ability to work with virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries is required.
  • Excellent process management skills are required. The applicant must be organized and able to handle high volumes of transactional activity, tight deadlines, and ever-changing priorities. The applicant must possess the ability to prioritize competing tasks and handle unique situations and be comfortable working on a variety of projects and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel is required. Additional expertise in data management is preferred.
  • Some travel (about 15 - 25%) may be required given the hands-on nature of the role. A US-based office location is required to enable this analysis and travel flexibility.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

The ideal candidate for this position should have experience working on complex projects (e.g. M&A Transactions) under tight timeframes. The candidate must be able to team with multiple stakeholders across geographic and cultural borders to drive projects to a successful completion. An operational mindset combined with strategic thinking, flexibility and executive presence are critical qualifications for this role. Seeking a candidate that holds self and others accountable for ensuring that results are achieved on time; takes action beyond formal job responsibility and sets high expectation for self.

The ideal candidate must also possess a flexible work style as the scope and variety of work will frequently change depending on the current portfolio and pipeline of transactions. Some travel (about 15 - 25%) may be required given the hands-on nature of the role.
