The roles primary responsibility is to participate and lead part of the UHC Global accounting and close controllership process, which includes consolidation, review, and reporting of global financial results amongst other various accounting deliverables, responsibilities, and special projects. The role will have one direct report.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate and assist in the monthly close process which includes consolidation of financial results from several foreign entities using different local accounting systems and other monthly and quarterly deliverables
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
  • Prepare/review journal entries and review accounting classifications
  • Prepare/review documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and P/L
  • Assist with building, reviewing and maintaining a solid internal control framework around the accounting and finance processes
  • Collaborate with management with the identification, documentation and mitigation of financial risks and opportunities impacting the Global businesses
  • Manage work in a collaborative way across multi-divisions and multi-countries

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in both team and self-directed work environments
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to demonstrate solid planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues that are geographically dispersed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years previous public accounting experience, with CPA or MBA
  • Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft general ledger, and SAP experience
  • Previous financial experience in the health care industry
  • Previous experience working with international colleagues

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
