This position performs a variety of business and accounting functions for our CA based OptumRx Corporate Accounting team.


You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform higher level accounting functions such as Intercompany and eliminations for core and acquired entities
  • Lead and support our Annual tax apportionment reporting and ad-hoc tax audit requests
  • Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the month end quarterly end close process which includes reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and analyzing results
  • Support the audit process and work with external auditors regarding accounting and reporting issues
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
  • Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Expert level of understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statements and intercompany transactions
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (PIVOT, VLOOKUP, SUMIFs, etc.)
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or MBA
  • Public accounting experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Experience in Oracle, Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials, or Microsoft Access
