Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We’re finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. This is the kind of work we do. We want to build leading FP&A practices within Verizon, setting the stage to become the place any FP&A professional wants to work. You can become a catalyst for change.

FP&A Planning and Analytics Services Team
The Financial Planning and Analytics Services (FPAS) positions offer opportunities to develop insight-driven customer relationships, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You’ll become involved in strategic business partnering, digitally driven process improvements, and financial modelling, reporting and analysis.

  • Managing a team of professionals that provide oversight of all aspects of the development and communication of executive reviews for Actuals, Business Plan, Commitment View, and Best View.
  • Being a trusted advisor providing valuable decision support and guidance to executive management.
  • Providing strategic financial and operational insights utilizing recurring performance reports, ad-hoc analysis and performance reviews.
  • Partnering with BU and Corporate FP&A teams to establish service level agreements, accelerate adoption of digital solutions and drive continuous improvements.
  • Evaluating business trends and assess monthly and quarterly business performance in driving strategic business analysis.
  • Providing decision support and guidance; lead ad-hoc presentation development and executive review.

Where you'll be working...

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Management.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Ability of analytical capability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
  • Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices and International Financial Reporting.
  • Knowledge of report query and design.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
  • Experience in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.

This role may be considered as part of the Department of Defence Skill Bridge Program.
