This role is the Finance lead for the Cell Therapy Manufacturing site in Devens, Massachusetts. The position is responsible for leading a team that provides cost accounting, business planning, performance monitoring and financial decision analysis support to the site. The position will partner with the site leadership to achieve sustainable, compliant, and competitive manufacturing performance.

Cost Accounting and Financial Control

  • Oversee accounting activities and financial controls for the site. Review and approve the monthly operating results for accuracy, proper accounting treatment and compliance with internal and external control requirements.
  • Report operating results and provide analysis of key performance drivers to the site and Cell Therapy Manufacturing leadership.
  • Review and approve the calculation of the annual standard product costs.
  • Provide financial support for capital appropriation requests (CAR) submissions. Ensure accuracy of fixed asset system.
  • Provide follow-up to requests from internal and external auditors.

Business Planning (i.e. Strategic Plan, Budget and Latest Forecast) and Analysis

  • Lead the development and presentation of financial plans and latest forecasts for the site
  • Drive margin improvement initiatives to increase competitiveness of the site
  • Partner with site leadership team to drive performance and manage risks & opportunities proactively
  • Support clear and proactive communication within the Cell Therapy network.
  • Advise site leadership team on strategic projects and investment decisions.

Leadership

  • Participate as a key member of the site leadership team.
  • Manage and develop team.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide financial insights to management and employee audiences that increase their knowledge of the business and enhances their decision-making capability.
  • Identify and implement improvements to current processes, as appropriate.     
  • Adheres to all applicable procedures, SOX, GMPs, company policies and any other quality or regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • BA or BS in Finance/ Accounting. MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Fifteen plus years of accounting/financial experience with at least 5 plus years of relevant finance experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in supporting manufacturing organizations. Experience in cost accounting is required.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to assume responsibility, take ownership for their work and intelligently challenge the status quo
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to present to senior management
  • Strong ability to collaborate with all levels of management and to influence across multiple functions and geographies
  • Excellent financial judgment and experience in strategic planning and financial analysis to supporting decision-making
  • Cross-functional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interact and lead at all levels of an organization
  • SAP experience required; ERP implementation experience is a plus
  • Strong PC skills including excellent proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
